Roman and virgil

Roman looked at the ended call screen on his phone before sighing, it had been months since the last time hes talked with the two love birds, not for any particular reason except for always being to busy or not in the mood with being around such a loving pair.

Not when his relationship with his soulmate was on the rocks.

Patton didn't say exactly what the reason was for virgil and him needing to go to, all except: 'we need to catch up and we really need to talk'
So Roman told them virge and him would be there around 2 roughly give or take.

There was a creek of a door opening and a shuffle of footsteps, "how is Patton?" Virgil asks seemingly genuine, "it's been a while since we've talked to them " Roman hums in agreement, "he's ok, same with Logan but they wanted to know if we could visit them today. I told them around two, so we can still have lunch.." Roman's voice trailed afraid that the prompt that got virgil mad to begin with would possibly trigger him again.

But Virgil just hummed in agreement, "I'll order some delivery then we'll get ready to go, is pizza ok with you?" Roman slowly nodded looking down at his long sleeved shirt. He smiles, only a small one, "sounds great babe."

Roman and Virgil pulled up to the married couples home, it was a two story, White House with a front verandah and lush green grass and small gardens (Logans pride and joy) framing the light blue and white fence.

They had only been here maybe five times roughly before now but Roman realised nothing had changed. it all still looked perfect.

Roman turned off their car after parking making sure the hand break was on then exchanged a look with virgil who seemed to be just as nervous.

They took a deep breath, unbuckled their seat belts and got out of the car, walking up the path to the house after locking their vehicle.

Getting the front door virgil hesitated but then went to knock on the door before knocking though they both got pulled into the house by a blur on light blue and tan, the two unsuspecting visitors let a sound of shock as they both got forced into a bear hug.

Once the two realised who it was they calmed down and roman melted into the touch. Sadly it was shortlived and roman had to suppress sounds of disappointment when patton let them both out of the hug.

Patton was bouncing up and down his blue eyes lit up with excitement, looking at patton he hadn't changed much, he'd gotten a little taller and curly blonde hair went a slight dirty blonde since highschool, the round glasses framing his slightly baby face cheeks, light brown freckles littered across his cheeks.

"Heya kiddos! It's been so long! Logan they're here!" Patton says running into the kitchen where apparently logan was, virgil and roman looked at eachother in some type of shock then followed behined patton, logan was at the kitchen sink washing his hands in a black and blue flannel and dark denim shorts that were dirty his glasses slightly fogged from sweat which framed his dark blue eyes, 'must've been gardening out back' roman thought.

"Ah salutations virgil, roman, I must apologize I was just going to clean up before you got here" roman shrugs, "its fine specs dont sweat it." Virgil nods agreeing with roman. Patton rushes around the kitchen, "would you two like a drink or anything?"

Roman and virgil both say a water would be fine, while logan goes and changes when he goes back downstairs after looking to see how the other guest is resting up, then they see his husband and the two guests are in the lounge patton was talking about work and the progress they've made on making the animal caring foundation.

They talked for a couple hours, virgil looked around the room he was in, the was a large bookshelf on one wall and a television on a TV cabinet many photos of both families and of friends were scattered around the walls and on any available surface, even some with Sam and Robyn together.

Virgil smiled a little at the photos remembering when they photos took place, the smile fell when he saw something out of the ordinary, "what's that?" Virgil interrupts roman talking about how his career is with his novels and short stories are going.

The conversation stopped as virgil stood and went to the item that looked out of place, he picked it, 'it's an arrow' virgil thought. Patton and logan exchanged a glance a silent conversation between the two, roman stood to where virgil was looking at it. "Its been used too, gross... where did you get this?" Virgil asked.

Roman looked at it intensely,  recognition dawned on his face, "this is a war arrow, you can tell because of sharp barbed spikes and the the weight of the actual tip. This isnt like any of the other ones I've seen though.. where did you get this?" Patton took a breath before looking at the two who were confused looking at the broken arrow.

"That's why we wanted you guys to come over,-" logan jumped in "patton would you like me to get them if they- oh Robyn your awake" everyone looked at the stairs seeing a dirty blonde woman  and medium build, she was pale, but not as deathly as a few hours before.  The light freckles dusted her face framing her blue eyes.

"Hey, yeah thanks for helping me"

Virgil froze seeing the woman standing leaning on the railing, a bandage wrapped around her calf, there was a little blood showing through the bandage.

"Robyn?"

Virgil looked at the person shocked, after three and a half years of nothing she is here! What about sam!

He walked over to the guardian slowly almost afraid she'd rain away if he approached too fast.

"Hello Virgil."

Virgil got pulled into a warm gently hug by the guardian their eyes glowing a fluorescent blue as he began to shake with uncontrollable sobs. She just softly rubbed his back allowing him to keep letting it out.

Roman looked at Robyn with a look of jealously, virgil doesn't even hug him anymore, 'how dare she get affection from his soulmate!' After a few minutes virgils sobs calmed down and he helped her to the couch where patton convinced her to elevate it.

There was a weighty silence with one question on everyone's mind where have they been? , robyn sighed and took a deep breath "I should really explain why I'm here and why I arrived with.. that in my leg.." she gestures to the arrow on the coffee table now, it was cleaned but the wood was stained permanently with her blood.

They all nodded, and Robyn took a deep breath, "ok, it'll be easier if I showed you."

She looked up her eyes glowed blue and white then she looked at all of them and a flash of a rose pink and everything began to fade.
