Trigger warning: mentions of death and blood (angst???) (Fluff?)

Robyn Logan.

Robyn shuffled around the kitchen trying to make a drink for both her and logan while he was thinking of the first question, "explain your wings" she looks at him in confusion holding two mugs "what about them?" She prompts.

"Are they different for each person or is it for specific types?" She chuckles lightly moving to the fridge for the milk. "Ah... I see now. A guardian's wings are never the same as another. Sure there are repeats in colours or similar patterns but they will never be identical." She explains "they're like snowflakes one is never going to be the same as another." She finishes the explanation already summoning her wings for an example, "I know multiple guardians with similar wing patterns to me or colours but they have never been identical."

Logan looked at the summoned wings with intrigue that made Robyn smile, it was just like the first time they had seen them all those years ago.

"About Sam's coronation or crowning, what happened to her during the process?" She considers it for a minute stirring the cocoa, Wings no longer summoned. "Well, the crownings are different for each guardian in that position but for sam she had flashes of the future and past that she needed to embrace from what she told me, sam never explained what They were but I just know that she is afraid for them to happen."

Logan looks at the drink he was now given "what do you think she saw?" She shuffled to sit on one of the bar stools and shrugs "I don't know, she could have had to accept the fact she might fade, or that Virgil and roman might never get married. I just don't know. The point of the flashbacks and forwards is to let go of the past and accept what comes to her, to become the best leader she can be for the sake of guardian kind."  Logan takes a sip of the warm drink, it actually tasted pretty good.

"Can you explain the 'fade' thing that you keep mentioning?" She takes a sip of her own the purse her lip in thought, "fading is another word for our 'dying' from your existence and becoming a blank to the people who know of us at all, we fade from everyone's memory so we can do our job properly at home"  logan slowly nods thinking "how does one 'fade' may I ask?" She hesitates

Looking away into the distance "when a guardian fades.. we usually die protecting our wards" her eyes flash baby blue as she spoke her voice sounded like she was distanced not focused, "we usually die alone.. the process is slow most of the time."  Logan listens intently, "I faded in the doorway of my wards bedroom while bleeding out from a stab wound as they slept. protected them from a robber, they just slept and heard nothing didn't even stir awake. I wanted so desperately for them to hold my hand and tell me I was going to be fine, but that's a dream that will never happen. They didn't want me as a sister anyway."

A tear slipped down her face but she ignored it, logan looked at her with a newfound look of respect in admiration, "why do you help them then?" He asks she doesn't look at him and shrugs "because even though they don't remember me, I remember them from before they pushed me away." She chuckled looking at her drink index finger tracing the rim of the coffee mug.

"They were the sweetest thing! Always chipper, giggly, ah I remember our games of hiding and seek they always won. I think of those times and they make the impact of their actions later on lessens, Bullies were difficult to help them with, even after fading. I learned that it was bullies that made them distance themselves."

She spoke wholeheartedly as more unspoken tears went down, never acknowledged by Robyn. Logan realised that fading to Robyn meant losing everything. "We don't have to talk about it if it brings negative thoughts and emotions up Robyn, I can ask some different questions" she snaps out of her thoughts from logan voice, it was gentle a tone she never heard from him before. He cared.

She finally wiped her tears away blinked a few times and took a couple of deep breaths, "that would be ideal, thanks, Logan." He nods, asking more questions about home what it looked like before Robyn saw the time and chuckled.  "Logan we should get to hed and actually sleep tonight."

Logan checks the time eyes going wide at how late it was, and suppresses the sudden need to yawn.

"I believe you are right" he stands and stretched Robyn doing the same "I'll do the dishes you head up to the bed, Pattons possibly missing you anyway." He nods wishing her goodnight then quietly moved to the stairs and his and Patton's shared room.

He shuffles under the sheets and gets comfortable, Patton rolls over and pulled into a little cuddle holding him close with a small sigh, logan smiles cuddling even closer to him and closes his eyes to let sleep take him.
