Roman and Virgil

"for the last time! I don't care Roman! Why do you even care about what I want anyway"  Virgil shouts for the 5th time that day. "all I asked was what you wanted for lunch babe, why can I not worry about my boyfriend?" the other says sadly obviously letting the shouting get to him "I don't want you to! you can make your own damn decisions I had someone here who helped me but they left because of you!" This was a regular excuse Virgil used and even though it was heavily used it still hurt. It was five years since they had gone but not fully disappearing until two-ish years ago, when that happened Virgil closed himself off, lashing out and yelling at the soulmate for the smallest of things. and no one knew but Roman believed it all, every single word hit him like venom slowly poisoning and adding to the stress and pain that he had been suppressing from the others.

Roman went to respond knowing that this was a losing battle but his phone rang with the caller ID reading Padre, there was a slam of the bedroom door causing Roman to flinch, he sits on the couch and takes a breath feigning excitement as he answers ."Hey Patton, haven't heard from you in a while"

Patton and Logan

"Morning Lo hows the headache today?" Patton asks already pouring his husband a large mug of coffee, logan rubs the sleep from his eyes lifting his thick black-rimmed glasses "morning Pat, I do believe the migraine is absent this morning, thankfully, your up early dear how was your sleep?" Patton hums looking at his soulmate dropping his cheery facade, Logan could always see through it anyway. "I had that dream again" he mumbles giving Logan his coffee "which one is that? the one with the burrito, the one where you were allergic to both dogs and cats or the winged girl?" Logan asks taking a sip of the steaming hot beverage Patton had taken the time to make for him.

Patton moved to the fridge taking out the pancake mix he had prepared earlier and got out the pan, " the girl, she was crying and saying I would hate her and that they did what they thought was best. I-I don't understand why they think I'd hate them... their eyes glowed a light blue again" he says putting a chunk of butter in the pan that was heating on the stove which began to sizzle.

logan listened intently to his husband rambling about his repetitive dream, logan never knew what to say in these situations so he would just nod and hum and keep prompting the other to continue talking. there was a knock on the front door and the two exchanged glances towards each other confused, "maybe its a package or something, I did order something online and may need to be signed for the veterinary" Patton prompted logan nodded downing the rest of his coffee and going to answer the door.

he got the foyer and looked through the peeping hole in the door, eyes widening and instantaneously rushing to unlock the door and opening it wide, "Robyn!? what are you doing here?" he seemed panicked and strangely relieved by the guardians' presence, they smiled weakly and shook their hand in a 'jazz hands'-type fashion, "surprise" she says quietly and awkwardly, looking at Robyn she seemed much paler, wearing a dark blue shirt while wearing pale baggy blue jeans, her eyes looked foggy and bloodshot, her hair was slightly messy. it looked like she had been crying.

logan moved and gestured for her to enter their home, logan catching onto the heavy limp she had when walking. "what was it, Logie?"Patton called from the other room, Logan cleared his throat "we seemed to have a surprise guest this morning" he says as calmly as possible still getting over the shock of seeing the dirty blonde woman standing leaning against the wall nervously.

"really who?" there was a moment that Patton looked up and locked eyes with her and seemed to relax but also panic with the eye contact as Patton locked eyes with logan unable to verbally say anything logan went to the look over breakfast as Patton rushed over to the nervous woman and pulled her into a bear hug, jerking her and moving her centre of gravity and forcing her to stumble putting pressure on the injured leg.

she cried out flinching away from Patton her eyes shone brightly swirls of blues and white, Patton caught off guard went to help but she shuffled away eye glowing brighter til her pupils weren't visible, afraid.

Patton took a deep breath, "kiddo, we cant help you if you won't let us near you" he says gently, she whimpers then looks at the curtains. "C-cant sh-show, curtains" she manages to say with that prompt Patton ran in a rush to close all the curtains and go back to where she was standing, there was a bright flash on her leg and Patton bit back and gasp.

Now instead of the clean jeans, they were replaced by a torn pair of jeans with a piece of what looked to be an arrow embedded into her calf, blood seeping slowly through the fabric that was slowing the flow of blood, with instant thoughts of his training as an animal doctor he rushed and picked the whimpering guardian up and moved to the lounge and laid her down onto the couch grabbing one of the folded towels Patton still had yet to put away, "Logie, can you get the big emergency first aid kit for me?" there was a sound of Logan calling back as Patton continued to get Robyn to get comfortable on the couch laying on her stomach.

Logan came into the room, his breath hitched seeing the injury and looking closer at the arrow, the snapped shaft had patterns and swirls, the arrow embedded in Robyn had small barbs and sharp digging in and if removed wrong could tear flesh and tendons, this was not any normal arrow Logan would have ever witnessed this is one strictly to kill a person.

Patton instantly got Logan to keep Robyn comfortable and to allow her to hold his hand (for comfort reasons only), "kiddo this is going to be a while, looking at the arrow and also the spikes will make it hurt kiddo." Robyn nods slowly, her eyes were unfocused almost like she wasn't really there.

it took an hour to get the arrow removed from her leg Robyn silently trying to not move or flinch away, part way through Logan noticed she was silent, he rubbed her back noticing the signs of disassociation, while Patton was dressing the newly exposed arrow free wound.

She had gone a sickly pale colour, tears silently slipping down her face, she looked tired. Logan deduced, after patton had bandaged the wound Logan helped her upstairs to the spare bed for her to rest whilst patton cleaned up the mess the lounge was in and ate, what was meant to be breakfast, for lunch.

Logan trudged down the stairs seeing patton nursing a cup of tea looking at his phone nervously, "patton, is everything alright?" Logan asks gently leaning over a kissing his soulmate on his cheek, he nods slowly zoned out eyes focused on his phone.

"Should we call the others?" Patton asks after a moment.
