6. harder than it has to be

I wake to a loud bang against the door. Ugh.

I roll over to find another pair of sweatpants and underwear aswell as a white shirt folded in a pile by my door. Wow. What a disappointing wardrobe selection.

I changed and placed yesterday's clothes folded in the small metal cabinet they provided by my bed before walking out into the hall.

"Hey girl" Jesse says as she walks out of her room and joins me as we walk to the common room and sit down around the table for breakfast. We wait for about 5 minutes when the ladies from the day before bring out all of our breakfast, Aaron joining us at the table soon after.

"Where is Malek?" I say eating my granola and fruit bowl.

"He sleeps in, I think" Jesse says

Speak of the devil and he will come, Malek comes around the corner wearing only his sweats, yet again and comes to join us.

"Morning" Jesse says to him as he sits down and begins eating without a word.

After breakfast Aaron was called to a session while me and Jesse started watching greys anatomy on the couch. Across from us on the other couch laid Malek reading some book off the shelf.

"Imagine banging that" Jesse randomly says during a mcdreamy scene "imagine that being our doctor"

"He's old as shit now, you know that right?" Malek says looking over at her

"Still hotter than you" Jesse smirks

"Amen" I say under my breath but I know he heard me

I can tell he was going to say something back but he doesn't, he just goes back to reading his book. In all honesty I find Malek hotter but personality is knocking him down a few too many notches.

I got up and went to the washroom and when I got back Aaron was now out of his session with Dr Martin and sitting with Jesse on the couch, leaving the only spot left beside Malek. Wonderful.

I come around the corner of the couch with a pit in my stomach and stand there for a second waiting for him to move his feet.

He lowers his book and rests it on his chest as he looks up at me.

"Can you move your feet" I say crossing my arms, already annoyed

I watch as he takes his one leg and crosses it over the other just to be annoying. I roll my eyes and just sit down on top of his legs, I hope it's uncomfortable for him.

"Malek" Jesse then says from the other couch. "Really?" But he doesn't say anything.

Moments later he starts coughing, like really coughing as it looks like he's choking and before I knew what was happening he pulled his feet out from under me so fast. He suddenly stopped coughing and glared across the room at Jesse and Aaron

"What happened?" I ask across to Jesse confused

"Aaron" she grins. Well I guess that makes sense.. you can't have a fire without air, but Malek could also burn him up using his power against him too right? Are they equals? I mean he definitely doesn't stand a chance against Jesse, just as I don't stand a chance against him. Why did it have to be him.

We sit around watching tv for a while before lunch and after me and Jesse decided we wanted to crop our Tank tops and t-shirts so we started our crafts when Malek was called for his session.

"Cmon man" the guard says to Malek but he doesn't get up?

"Man you know we're going to do this one way or another" the other guard says, both armed with tasers.

Suddenly Malek spits on the one guard making him lunge and punch Malek in the face. Seconds later he's down on the ground screaming followed by the other guard shooting him with the taser making Malek grunt in pain. The man then grabs his arm and pulls him off the couch and starts dragging him across the floor to the sessions room when he suddenly falls screaming in pain now?

"JESSE" the one guard yells over to us and Jesse closes her eyes and takes a breath and suddenly Malek is on the ground out like a light. Why did he do that?!

"What happened?" I say so confused watching them as they drag him into the room.

"He fights them" she says. "He uses his powers and hurts the guards so they have to use me to neutralize him" she says. She isn't even fazed by it, she has to be use to it by now. "He'll be fine in a couple minutes"

"What do they do to him?" I say starring at the big metal door. God knows what they put him through in there.

"Depends how bad he fights" she says "depends what kind of information they are gathering"

"Do they hurt him?" I say concerned

"Yes" she shrugs " but it doesn't have to be that way"

"Oh" I say sitting back down in my chair watching the door as Jesse goes back to cropping the shirts.

"He'll be fine, I don't think they can even kill us anyways, all they got is tasers and non lethal stuff" she says and I finally refocus and continue cutting with her

We went and tried them on in the bathrooms and fixed the uneven spots before going back to my room.

"What are you going to put on the white board?" Jesse says as I'm putting the rest of my clothes away.

"I don't know" I say honestly. All I want is to go home.

"I've contemplated putting a vibrator down" she laughs

"Why would you need that when you got Aaron" I say looking up at her surprised

"For when he's not around" she grins

"When would he not be around, we all live together" I say shocked

"I said I thought about it, clearly found a solution" she grins

"Wait, are you guys sleeping together?! In here?!" I say confused

"I mean you can't lock two young attractive people in a building and expect nothing to happen" she laughs "plus they put birth control in our food in the morning anyways"

"I think that's why Malek is such a dick, he's just sexually frustrated and now with you around now he must be-"

"Absolutely not shut up" I say cutting her off immediately

"All I'm saying is you have a lot of power right now" she smiles

"Not really, I don't really know that stuff remember" I say rolling my eyes as she comes and sits down on the bed. Why would he be into me anyways, he's been a dick to me.

"It ain't that hard, he's a guy. You got nothing but time in here to mess with him and get better at it anyways" she laughs

"I don't like him" I say and she just stares at me then laughs

"K, save it for him, I ain't buying it" she says before pulling me up off the bed and back out to the common area.
