FELIX felt a bit awkward. He was sitting with the prince on the porch in complete silence. It was sort of a comfortable silence for Felix, but he thought perhaps Chan might feel different. So the butler's friend contemplated on how to start a conversation. To his surprise, Chan was the one who started talking.

"Are the townspeople happy? How are their lifestyles?" Chan asks softly, merely a whisper. Felix watches the prince's eyes twinkle as he gazed at the stars. "They're happy, your highness. They're happy under your father's rule. It's because he provides us with all the necessities, so the people are all satisfied."

The prince smiles softly, his gaze never leaving the stars in the sky. Felix now knows how much the other male loved the people of his kingdom and this made his heart swell in happiness. He had always had a hint of adoration for the prince. The commoner used to sneak glances at Chan whenever the prince would take a stroll through the kingdom on his horse.

Chan, of course, had never noticed Felix during his journeys through the towns. He rather focused on having a pleasant ride on his horse, as he rode the streets of his kingdom. The commoner always relied on Chan to govern the kingdom soon, with a wife, who'll be Queen, by his side. Felix knew he had a certain liking towards the prince but he never thought of him in any way other than with respect.

Chan, on the other hand, was nervous to face the commoner, and look him in the eyes. He's afraid that if he did so, Felix would surely capture his heart as well. He definitely did not want to face the consequences of courting the male. Much less, what would people even think of him if his love interest was a guy?

"What's on your mind, your highness?"

The prince is startled at the sudden interruption at first but later shakes his head as an affirmation that nothing was on his mind. The look on Chan's face said otherwise, and the commoner had already noticed it. "Is it the ball? Are you finding it hard to find a suitable spouse?"

"Well, I suppose that's one of my worries," Chan says as he finds a little courage to look directly in Felix's direction. Wrong move, because the prince was staring directly into the latter's majestic eyes. The prince loses it, even more, when the commoner flashes him a small smile. Chan could hear his erratic heartbeats and was praying that the younger male would be deaf to it.

"Your cheeks are all flushed, your highness. Are you not keeping well? Do you perhaps want a glass of water?" Felix inquires, certainly worried about the latter. Chan mouths a 'no' to the commoner, "It's nothing really. The weather is just a little hot, that's all," but Felix wasn't buying it. It was mid-winter after all.

The commoner brings a hand and places them gently on the prince's forehead, checking if Chan was running a fever, which thankfully, he wasn't. The prince flinches at the sudden touch which makes Felix retrieve his arm as quickly as possible. "I apologize, your highness. I shouldn't have done that without your permission."

"No no, It's n-not your fault. I-I was just startled," the prince nervously scratches the back of his neck. Felix finds the older male's actions adorable while the prince's cheeks redden. The commoner chuckles upon seeing Chan all flustered and nervous, he didn't know he had that kind of influence on the prince and was quite amused by it.

Chan knew that he had embarrassed himself so he tries his best to compose himself. He places his arms on his hips, making himself look more prideful. I won't make myself look like a fool anymore, the prince thought to himself. And right when he was about to start speaking, the butler walks in with a smile.

"Lix, I'm back. Let me send you home now," Seungmin says as he tries to grab Felix's wrist to drag the commoner along with him. Chan's face immediately drops when he realizes that the younger male had to take his leave. He wondered if he would ever see him again. Felix walks closer to the butler and whispers something into his ear. Seungmin just gives him a wink in return and leaves the porch.

"You're not leaving?" Chan questions, furrowing his brows. Felix smiles before answering, "I wanted to bid you a proper goodbye."

The prince is quite surprised at the younger's words, but he nods in acknowledgement. "Well, farewell good sir. It was nice spending time with you."

"My pleasure. Goodbye, your highness. I'll take my leave now," the commoner is about to walk away when Chan stops him by grabbing his wrist.

"Wait!"

Felix, who was clearly shocked, turns around in confusion and meets the prince's soft gaze on him. "What is it, your highness?"

"Will..." Chan lowers his eyes, his hand still holding on to the latter's wrist. Felix waits for the prince to continue in anticipation. "...I see you again?"

Felix sighs and grabs both of the prince's hand and gives them a gentle squeeze. "It depends. I won't be around the castle often."

"Oh," Chan mutters in disappointment.

"But... if you really want to see me again," Felix continues, "I'll try my best to visit you! Seungmin could perhaps invite me over to help out in the castle again."

This brings a wide smile to Chan's face. He definitely wanted to see the younger male again, grow closer to him, to gaze at his eyes all day. So he was happy when Felix made sure to visit him again.

"I'd like that very much."

Felix nods with a smile forming on his lips, he then bows gracefully, saying his last goodbye as he exits the porch, leaving the prince by himself. All alone, Chan wonders when he would get to meet the commoner again.
