Let it be known to everyone, that Monoma didn't like class 1A. He grew up being bullied for being a 'copy cat' because of his quirk, so he developed a bit of an inferiority complex.

It was on a sunday when it started. Monoma was sitting in a cat cafe, drinking a latte and reading a book about quirk theory. Because of his quirk, Monoma has to have a good understanding of quirks, so he's very interested in quirk theory.

He was sitting there reading when he heard a familiar voice.

"Monoma-kun!"

He heard the voice of Izuku Midoriya, golden boy of class 1A.

"Midoriya..."

"I love that book! Isn't it so interesting?" Midoriya asked, looking between the book in Monoma's hand and Monoma's eyes, a wide smile on his face.

"Hm..seems like you have some taste. Yes, I like this book very much," Monoma said, a usual jab but toned down, to not startle the cats.

"I love quirk theory. Quirks are so interesting and unique that I can't help but love them all. Do you mind if I sit here? I usually have no one to talk about quirk theory with but I thought you might have some good insight for me!" Izuku said, choosing his words carefully to not upset the blonde.

Eyeing him, Monoma saw no harm, especially since no one else from school could see him.

And the smile Izuku gave him made him weak.

"Fine, sure, whatever. Knock yourself out," Monoma huffed, slightly irritated that a person from class 1A could make his resolve falter.

But when he saw that Izuku's smile widened, and his eyes shined with happiness, he couldn't say he regretted his decision.

"Wonderful! I was hoping we could talk about quirk theory together! And other things if you'd like!" Izuku said, pulled the chair that was across from Monoma out and sitting on it.

Immediately, three cats came and flocked towards him.

As Monoma saw Izuku giggle softly, playing with the cats, he couldn't help but want to be with him more.

A few months went by since their initial 'Hang out', and they surprisingly got along well. They both bonded over their shared experience of bullying, and it grew from there. They discussed topics like quirk theory, mortality, heroism, villainy, and puns.

Yes, they both loved puns.

When Izuku would have self doubting moments, Monoma would cheer him up with a pep talk and a trip to a cafe, or when Kendo made Monoma feel like he wasn't trying hard enough Izuku would reassure him that he was doing his best and that he was doing amazing, sparring with him to prove his point.

Around after a month since they met at the cafe, they started using their first names with each other.

Although, around month two, Izuku called him 'Neichan', while Monoma called him, 'Zuki'.

Neither of their classes realized that they're friends, or, maybe starting to become more than friends.

If Izuku holding onto Monoma's pinky with his own pinky during one of their hang outs was anything to say.
