At the age of four, Izuku Midoriya had gotten his quirk like everyone else.

Except, it was nothing like his parents. It was nothing the doctors have ever seen before.

The night before he went to the doctor, he turned pink. Pink skin, pink hair, even pink eyes!

The doctor, who had a quirk that could determine other people's quirks, said that he had a lot of abilities.

His hair could lead to an alternate world, though you couldn't breathe in it, and it had a tree on a hill.

He could also create portals by yelling. He found that cool. He just had to yell with the intent to make a portal and where the portal would lead, then just jump through!

He could also heal someone who was on the verge of death with his tears, though they would turn pink as well and have the same hair ability.

He could also draw a pink sword from his hair. It had a dark pink handle that looked like a bundle of thorns with a rose pattern at the top to connect to the blade, a rose quartz crystal at the bottom of it that looked like the tip of the rose, and a light pink blade that reached up to five feet in length. His mother promised to let him take sword lessons, which he was ecstatic about.

But the coolest thing he could do was turn into a lion!

He was able to turn into a pink lion, and he still kept the hair dimension and the mouth portals, but to use the sword someone would have to reach into his mane with the intent to grab the sword.

All in all, he thought he had a pretty cool quirk.

He couldn't wait to show Kacchan!

Katsuki was happy for him. His best friend had a super strong and versatile quirk! They were going to be heroes together! They would be the best hero duo ever! There was even a cool looking sword!

Katsuki, to celebrate Izuku getting his quirk, decided that the two should go on an adventure in the forest. Now, their parents usually told them not to go to the forest, since it's dangerous for young children to go alone, but Katsuki wanted to celebrate! So, he didn't listen to them.

Izuku and Katsuki made their way through the forest, talking and joking and laughing like the best friends they were. They made it to a small clearing with a little river and a wet tree log going over it.

"Kacchan...I don't think we should go over it...It looks bad," Izuku said, not knowing the word for unstable since he was four.

"Come on Izu! Be brave!" Katsuki said, climbing onto the log and walking across it.

He only made it halfway before he fell with a little yelp.

"KACCHAN!" Izuku yelled, running down the small hill into the river where Katsuki lay.

Katsuki laid still on his back, eyes closed with his skin turning pale.

Izuku then noticed the blood leaking from the back of his head.

Izuku cradled Katsuki's still body and cried. He wept, wishing for his best friend to be okay.

As he wept, he didn't notice that the moment the tears hit the boy's skin that it started to glow.
