Izuku Midoriya, contrary to popular belief, didn't always live in Japan. He was born in Long Beach, Los Angeles California. He was born to Inko and Hisashi Midoriya. Inko was born in Japan to full Japanese parents and moved to the states for college, where she met Hisashi Midoriya, who was born in Mexico to fully Hispanic parents who moved, also for college.

Izuku grew up learning three different cultures, his mother's culture, his father's culture, and the culture around him. He grew up playing games in the street with other kids, like soccer and street hockey, and since the US had a higher population rate of quirklessness, 20% against Japan's 5%, he didn't get bullied and grew up with a lot of friends.

When he was ten, his mother got a job offer in Japan. A really good job offer. His parents decided that he should move to Japan with his mother then visit his father every summer.

His parents got him a phone to keep in touch with his friends. They all shared memes and made jokes, mostly joking about stupid names they've been called by racists, like when David, Izuku's best friend, was called 'Chimuelo' after he knocked out a tooth running into a street pole.

The group consisted of David, Izuku's closest and oldest friend, who's the dumbass of the group and constantly gets in trouble. He follows the twin's schemes and usually has to have Izuku come save him.

Maria, the angel of the group, she's the youngest so everyone spoils her. She's soft-hearted and probably the nicest person you'll ever meet.

Alejandra and Alejandro, the twins whose parents thought it would be funny to name them similarly. They like to act like Hikaru and Karou, just without the twincest. They like to act like each other, though you can tell who's who because Alejandra has long hair that's always in a ponytail and Alejandro has short hair. They're the trickster of the group and usually like to make David do something stupid.

And finally, there's Rosa, the mom of the group. She makes sure they were all taken care of and alive, while also making sure that they were thoroughly scolded and made sure they know what they did was dumb.

Now, Izuku was the quiet one. He was the center of the group. The glue holding them all tightly together. He'd save David from trouble, spoil Maria to her heart's content, allow himself to get tricked by the twins, just to entertain them, and make sure everyone was kept alive with Rosa.

He was the big brother of the group, and everyone loved him.

When he was ten and had to move, he was devastated. He didn't want to leave his friends, but he knew that he'd see them again.

He's just glad he could text them every day.

In Japan, everything was different. He didn't live in a house anymore, he lived in an apartment. He couldn't play out in the streets anymore, since the roads were always busy. He couldn't play with other kids anymore, since the quirklessness rates were different and all of the kids thought Izuku was a freak.

One day, he met Katsuki Bakugou, and he couldn't pronounce his name, so he called him Kacchan.

Katsuki didn't like that.

Katsuki didn't like Izuku as a whole, actually. He thought he was a freak. Useless. He'd never met anyone quirkless before, so he thought they weren't able to do anything. He called him Deku since his name could be read as such.
