TW: Abandonment, Mentions of Military, Talking about Sex, Death,

Thursday is Thanksgiving in America. It's not exactly the holiday with the best history and it's not my personal favorite. But I figured it's enough reason to post two chapters instead of just one. Hope you enjoy.

Also over 46 million turkeys are eaten on thanksgiving. But every year one is spared, it's called a turkey pardoning. Just thought it was a fun fact. Have a happy Thanksgiving everyone

More on Logan's past because why not! (There's a real reason, you'll see)

Just Imagine Logan as like a grumpy toddler in overalls and a blue shirt with glasses.

Unlike many single parents, Logan's mother had not been young when Logan was born. That wasn't to say she was old either. She was at an average age. Right when most people began to settle down and have children. She had been a married woman. Married to a man she thought she would be with forever. And when she found out she was going to have a baby, she could not be more excited! She had sprung into her husband's arms with tears of happiness coming down her face as she excitedly told him, "We're gonna have a baby! We're gonna have a baby!"

Her husband was not so excited. He had looked down at her with shock and mortification. Frozen in his spot for a good two minutes while his wife continued to yell and jump around excitedly. She announced it to the whole waiting room of people in that hospital, complete strangers were congratulating them. But he didn't want a baby. He wasn't ready to be a father, they hadn't even talked about this, and what had they done wrong? They had practiced safe sex. They had done what they were supposed to do to avoid this happening. But somehow this baby had beaten the odds and they were coming.

And he didn't want that.

A fight broke out.

Nothing physical, all of it verbal.

An argument took place right there in that hospital and it ended with him walking out of that hospital and yelling for his wife to take a taxi home. When she did get home, he was gone. Her friends and family assured her that he would change his mind and come back. That he was just surprised and shocked was all. That everything would be okay and they would get to be a family.

But that didn't happen.

Less than a weak later she came home from work to find the apartment empty of all his things and a voicemail on the machine telling her he wanted a divorce and he was sending her the papers.

She signed no problem.

She ended up deciding real quickly that she didn't need or want that man. If it was only her and the baby that was fine by her. She loved this baby and she wanted to be a mother more than she wanted to be alive. And nothing, not a man, not a thing was going to change her mind about it.

The day he was born her mother, Logan's grandmother, held her hand in the delivery room. The baby's cries were the most beautiful sound she had ever heard. The nurse had placed him in her arms and she looked down at her newborn baby son with a smile so gentle and exquisite that it seemed to glow for a second.

She decided on the name Logan.

She'd always liked how the name sounded.

Logan.

Say it with me now.

Logan.

Emphasize the 'Lo' part now.

Logan.

Beautiful isn't it?

Logan.

With the last name Berry. That was her maiden name, the one she had been given by her father.
