TW: Stalker behavior (being followed)

Four Hundred and Twenty-Two Days After Escape | Monday | October 20th

It was raining.

Virgil sat outside, headset on and hoodie zipped as he sat on one of the lawn chairs. A blanket was wrapped around his shoulders, a cup of hot chocolate kept his hands warm. His eyes were closed as if he was asleep, though he wasn't, calmly listening to the sound of the rain. He had always liked the rain, it was soothing to him.

Nobody else in the house seemed to have the same type of appreciation for rain as Virgil did. But then again nobody else had such a history with rain like Virgil had. Before his parents had passed Virgil used to spend rainy days doing what he was doing now with his mother by his side. Except they would actually sit in the rain, whereas Virgil was sitting underneath the awning to preserve his beverage from being tainted by raindrops.

He used to sit in the rain with his mother, and when they returned home they would join his father and build a pillow fort. They would make snacks and warm drinks and watch movies until they fell asleep. Rainy days used to be Virgil's favorite. He loved them and still did. But it wasn't quite the same.

It had been a long day today. He was thankful that he had been given a chance to enjoy the rain. His classes this morning had been difficult, he had trouble understanding some of it and had had to ask Logan to help explain it. Which had not helped much seeing as Logan spoke more complexly than their actual teacher. Work had been long and unenjoyable. He had wasted two hours of the day inputting the wrong data and his boss had not been happy about it. He'd have to put in overtime to get caught up again, and he did not want to do overtime. It felt good to sit here and unwind, but it didn't last long.

As he was about to take a sip of his hot chocolate the sliding glass door opened, "Virgil?!" Roman yelled loudly. Virgil jumped, spilling the drink on his lap. Roman spotted him quickly and relaxed, "Are you okay? Why weren't you answering your phone? I was worried!"

Virgil pulled his headset off with confusion, "My phones on silent, I was listening to music" He said as he put the cup of cocoa down and stood up to approach Roman, "Why what's wrong?"

Roman hugged Virgil closely, "The suited guys were at the college. They questioned a bunch of people, it was on the news. I thought they took you V"

Virgil took a moment to let that sink in before looking up at Roman, "Well they didn't. I'm fine Ro, just taking some me time. Sorry, I worried you." Roman hummed but didn't release Virgil yet as he buried his head into the other's neck, "Wanna sit and watch the rain with me?"

"It's cold out here" Roman complained

Virgil shrugged, he wasn't cold but then again he was wearing a jacket and had been drinking his cocoa, "I can share my blanket,"

Roman thought about that for a moment but agreed and joined Virgil on the porch swing. "You doing okay?" he asked as Virgil laid his head on Roman's arm and closed his eyes again.

Virgil nodded, "Yeah, I'm just tired. It's only Monday and I'm already wanting this week to be over"

Roman nodded with agreement, "Logan's still wondering about that kid."

"Why?"

"He just wants to know how the kid has three powers. He and Patton are trying to find a way to find him. You know, since we've seen his face and stuff. Maybe we can help him like we helped you?"

Virgil nodded. He agreed that maybe they should see if they can convince the kid to stop doing villain work, but trying to find him could be risky. What if he did that thing again, where he made the others unable to move? Or if he got angry and attacked them? Or if the suited guys came back? "I don't think him having three powers is such a big deal," Virgil told him instead of voicing his other thoughts, "I have only have one power,"
