Four Hundred and Eleven Days After Escape | Friday | October 9th

Giovanni was sitting on the couch peeking over his Spanish copy of Ready Player One (He had finished Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy a while ago) towards a boy and a girl close in age to him sitting at the dining room table. A long wooden table with a bench on each long side and one chair at each end. The boy and girl were talking and laughing as they sat next to each other enjoying the other's company.

"So which one is it?" A voice asked making Gio jump a little bit as he sat up quickly and pretended to go back to reading.

"Virgil!" Gio said, hitting the other lightly as they sat down on the couch.

Virgil laughed, "What? It's not exactly like I snuck up on you, I called your name twice" Virgil told him.

"I thought you only came here on Wednesdays."

Virgil shrugged, "I had some time before play rehearsal, Roman dropped me off for a few hours while he finished something for work. They're filming some weird top-secret commercial that no one is supposed to know about, but Roman's not the best at keeping secrets so I know" Gio hummed to show he heard as he once again attempted to look over at the boy and girl from behind his book. "Gio, which one of them is it"

"I don't know what you're talking about," Gio lied.

"Uh-huh, let's save us both some time and you just tell me." Gio shook his head and glared slightly at his book, "Gio, I'm not gonna judge you on who it is. I'm dating a guy myself."

"Why do you even care?" Gio asked.

"Because teenagers get super dramatic about everything and it's kinda hilarious to watch," Virgil said, Gio turned red in embarrassment but didn't say anything, Camon, I can be your wingman. Everyone here loves me, imagine how cool your crush will think you are once I put in a good word. Tell me which one it-"

"It's both okay?!" Gio said angrily. He groaned in embarrassment and covered his face with his book as Virgil attempted to recover.

"Okay, so you have a crush on two different people that's fine"

"it's not weird?" Gio asked, Virgil, shook his head, "But I like them both! They're not the same gender"

Virgil snorted, "Dude you're probably just Bi or pan or something," Gio looked at him confused, "Bi means you're attracted to both genders and Pan means you're attracted to anybody regardless of gender. " Virgil lifted his hand as he thought of an example, "My friend from the other day, Logan, is pan. And David Bowie is Bi"

"I've never even met someone who isn't a girl or a guy"

"Your roommate is genderfluid dude,"

Gio sat up straight, "They are?" Virgil nodded, "Shit I've been using he/him pronouns for like three weeks!"

"You can apologize later. Teen romance first," Virgil said he shrugged at the quizzical look Gio gave him, "Sorry my boyfriends been making me watch romcoms with him. Also, you are aware this is an LGBTQ+ Foster house right? As in, most if not all of the kids here are LGBTQ+?"

"is that why everybody asked me what I was when I first got here?" Gio asked, Virgil, nodded, "I thought they were asking what race I was! I thought I've been living with a bunch of racist fools!"

Virgil laughed slightly, "Gio, how did you not know? Your parents specifically requested you go to an LGBTQ+ safe foster home. It's in your file"

"My parents think I'm gay!?"
