She wished this dream wouldn't end. She couldn't stop looking at his chest and face, her own face beat red and her heart racing wildly. He was smiling from ear to ear like always, but it seemed to falter for a few seconds, which she noticed, her own smile lessening. She brought up the courage to ask him what was wrong, but when she opened her mouth she just closed it again. All Might saw that, his smile coming back with full force while asking her.
"What is it, young (L/n)?" he felt her shrink in his arms, her courage leaving her as fast as it came.
"I-I just wanted to know. Is everything o-okay?" she tried to be as serious as she could, but her own body betrayed her.
"O-of course!" his own voice failed, but his smile didn't falter this time.
"I-I was just wo-worried, d-don't mind me." she said, her arms letting go of his neck, she knew that he wouldn't drop her.
He felt the tense atmosphere she let on, she wanted to trust him, he could see that, but he knew that she wanted to see the man behind the hero. He didn't want to have a moment of proximity with her, he knew what it would lead to. She was so young, ready to learn, to experience and to feel, he just hoped that it wouldn't be with him that she wanted to do all that. But, deep down, that wasn't exactly what he wanted.
As they got closer to her house, which she pointed out some streets before, he wanted more and more to open up to her, to tell her what was happening while the tourney was ending. He was trying to contain himself, but in the end he would tell her anyway.
They landed right in front of her house, he dropped her gently on the floor, giving back her backpack. She took the bag from his hands fast, then she smiled shyly, her face red all over again.
"Tha-thank you, A-All Might!" she said while bowing to show her gratitude.
"There's no need to thank me!" he raised one hand, as if asking to stop with all the chivalry between them.
A strange silence grew, she didn't want him to leave and he didn't want to leave. They were both entranced with each other, not wanting to let go of one another.
"W-would you like to co-come in?" she asked politely, she hoped that he would say no, her mind was taking it to the wrong place and her house was a mess, she needed to clean it up immediately.
"It's alright, young (L/n). I have to go back to UA anyway." he said, giving her a thumbs up, being just as polite as her.
"O-oh! So, have a good night, Sir All Might!" she managed to say without stuttering, rushing through the fence, going to her door and fumbling with her keys.
She didn't exactly get a response, but she didn't mind, he helped her too much already. What she didn't expect was to hear the sound of the fence door opening, making her turn around to look at All Might again. He was in the middle of the path between the house and the fence, his complexion without a smile this time. For a second she swore that she saw a defeated man, a man that needed help, a man that wasn't understood, a man that wasn't heard. His face didn't change, but he changed his posture, bringing himself to full height again.
"It's about Iida's brother." he started, letting out a long sight.
"What happened?" she asked, her crush now forgotten and her mind focused only on what he was talking about.
"There was an attack, I can't get into too much detail. But Ingenium was seriously hurt. Iida already went to the hospital to stay with his brother, but I'm worried about him." he continued, not standing tall anymore, shrinking under his own frame.
The setting sun was nowhere to be seen, clouds were occupying the sky, covering the blue from minutes before. A loud thunder was heard, but none of them cared about the weather at that point. The man's face didn't have the same smile from before, he wasn't even faking it anymore, just pure emotion was shown.
She gave him a soft smile, she could see that he was pouring his heart out, she didn't want to miss the chance to see the man of her dreams open up to her. She got closer, getting his hand from his side, holding it in front of him with her two hands. Her face was red like never before and she didn't know where this courage came from, but she felt that that was the right thing to do at the moment. She looked up at him, seeing his face red too, not as red as hers, but red nonetheless.
"I'm sure he'll be fine, don't worry." she said quietly, her hands holding his bigger one a little tighter between them.
His smile came back at the same time that she said that, it wasn't a heroic smile, but a kind one. He knew that she was trying to help him, he liked that she was worried for him, but he too knew that Ingenium wasn't going to get better, he hoped so, but reality was banging on his door.
"Thank you, (Y/n)." he said, regretting right after how he said the phrase.
The girl's eyes widened, her smile disappeared at the same time, but the blush on her face only intensified. He noticed that she didn't link the fact that Toshinori called her that and All Might called her 'young (L/n)'. She tried to let go of his hand, wanting to hide inside her house right away, but the man's hand that she was holding grabbed her wrist. She turned around, facing him again, but this time she noticed a change in his appearance. He was completely soaked from head to toe. She stopped for a second, not understanding the scene, just as she was beginning to pay attention to the details another thunder rolled in, finally making her see what was happening. It was raining!
She tried covering her face with her other hand, not minding anymore that he was still holding her wrist. He finally took notice of that and he too tried to cover himself, laughing loudly at how stupid they must've seemed.
"I should go. Wouldn't want one of my students to get sick, would I?" he said, letting go of her wrist and making his usual pose.
"I-I invited you in earlier, bu-but I haven't cleaned it recently." she played with her hands in front of her, trying not to get nervous again "The o-offer still stands, though."
"It's alright! I'll be seeing you tomorrow, young (L/n)!" he almost screamed, jumping high in the air and launching himself away.
As he jumped in the air, he covered his face with one hand, he almost did something that he would regret later. But she looked o angelic, so cute with the blush on her face and her wet uniform remembered him of his own time at UA.
She let out a long breath that she hadn't noticed she was holding, she ran back to her house, rushing inside as fast as she could. As she locked the door her legs gave in, making her fall on the ground, her bag beside her and her legs tucked under her. What the fuck was she doing?!
