Chapter 19

While Aizawa explained some basic things about respecting the heroes they were going to work with and to not lose their uniforms, (Y/n) was looking for Shouto, since they were going to work with the same hero. She found him standing not so far away from the other students, holding his bag with the uniform formally, as if he was a businessman.

"Hey, Todoroki!" she called out to him, walking up to him and smiling softly "It seems that we are going to the same place, right?"

"I think so, yes." he simply said, but couldn't help the question that came out next "Why did you choose him?"

She stopped and blinked for a second, really thinking about the pros and cons of working with him.

"Well, he might be arrogant and rude, but he's the hero with the highest rank that asked for me. Also, he's just as determined as me with being the number one hero. I would do anything to be on the top." she sighed dreamily, turning to the boy and asking the same question "And what brings you to him?"

"One of the motives is him being my father, but other than that, I just want to show everyone that I won't be like him." his eyes darkened in colour.

"Then, let's do it." she got him out of his dark place "Let's show everyone what we can do!" she smiled excitedly.

Shouto hesitated for a second, but soon a small curve appeared on his lips.

"Yes, let's do this."

They went silently to the tower, on the subway people recognized them, some were familiar with the event that happened not long ago and some noticed the uniform. They left the two students alone, but whispers were inevitable. When they finally got to the building, they talked to the receptionist and she called Endeavor, he told her to send them in immediately.

On their way to the top of the tower, she noticed how Shouto was acting calmly, as if he didn't have a grudge at all, he was composed, almost haughty. He probably didn't want to show his father his true emotions.

On the other hand, (Y/n) was pure adrenaline, she didn't know how to react. She rejected the guy at an unforgivable level, she didn't even know why he accepted her, maybe just to mock the situation she was in? Well, one thing was for sure, she was going to make the most out of this experience.

When the elevator door opened, which was directly inside Endeavor's office, the number two hero had the biggest smile she had ever seen. He had his arms crossed in front of his big chest, the flames on his face and body seemed bigger that day. (Y/n) swallowed dryly, feeling the temperature in the place rise.

"I was waiting for you two." he looked at Shouto "It seems like you're ready to follow the way to the most powerful, right, Shouto? And you, (L/n), decided to finally accept my proposal?" he smiled at the two, a massive smile on his face.

The girl just lowered her head, ashamed of being mocked like that. It was more about being proud than anything.

"I have no intention of following the path you trailed." the boy said without expression, he could be cold as ice in these situations "I'll follow my own way."

"Well, you two should get ready." he smiled, showing his teeth "We'll go out."

"Where?" Shouto seemed genuinely surprised.

"I'll show you two what being a hero is."

That actually didn't happen, everything was alright that day, nothing to worry about at all. The girl was holding her laugh the entire time. They only did some interviews and some fans appeared on the way. Thank God that Endeavor's fans were extremely kind, the complete opposite from their idol.
