“Lyssa! Please help me! I don’t think I’ll ever be with Zander! He’s perfectly fine where he is now. I think I should just stay out of the way from now on.” I said as I cried even harder.

“Good thing you told your mom that you were spending the night here. This will be one loonng night.” Lyssa said as she stroked my hair.

“Where’s Kayla? I thought she was coming?”

“I’m sorry Em, but she couldn’t come. Not tonight anyways.”

“It’s fine. I’m glad I have you here. Though you and Kayla both here, would be perfect.” I said one I finally stopped crying.

“Wake up Em!!! It’s time to get ready for school.” Said Lyssa by the bathroom getting ready.

“Ok... Holy crap!!! Woah!!! Why do I have so much messages and voicemails?” I said as I stood up and looked at my phone.

“It’s been buzzing all night. But don’t worry about that right now. Let’s get ready. We have to get to school early. And don’t worry about Zander. I told him that you were getting a ride with me and Logan.” She said all of a sudden dressed and ready to go.

“Ok, I’ll try to hurry. And Lyssa? Thanks.” I said smiling.

As I walked into school, I noticed that everything was dull. Lifeless. I can’t be depressed forever. This was just too much for me. As I looked around, some people just looked so happy. I didn’t know what to do. Sure I’ve had broken hearts before, but this... It just felt different, like it was meant too be, then someone came and ruined everything for me.

“Em. Em! Come on! We have cheer early today. There’s a football game after school.” Lyssa said dragging me too cheer.

When I walked onto the field where we were practicing, I looked around and saw Zander over by Stella laughing and talking with her. I just can’t help but feel jealous. Well, I’m feeling better, so I guess I should have a good attitude and talk to them as casually as possible. “Hey guys!” I said as I walked over to them looking as confident as I could.

“Oh! Hey Em! Was up girlfriend? I didn’t see you at practice last night! Are you ok and ready for the game tonight?” Stella said in her usual perky voice.

“Oh ya! I was fine. I was just on a date.” I lied as I smiled at Zander. Why am I being so mean? Zander means nothing to me anymore. I think. Now I just gotta find a date. Hopefully this won’t be hard.

“Oh... Who was your date?” Zander asked curiously.

“I’ll tell you guys later! Right now it’s a secret.” I said mischievously.

“Ok! Can’t wait!” Stella said excitedly as she walked away pulling Zander with her.

That was close! I’ll go scout the football team. Maybe I’ll find someone really soon!
