Everett's POV:

"Hey Em." I said quietly.

"Hey Ev! I was just about to call you? What's up?" Em answered happily.

"Well, I'm really sorry." I said.

"What?" She asked, obviously confused.

"I promise you that i'll find him. I'll be back." I said quickly.

"Ev? You're not making any sense. What happened?" She said worriedly.

"Don't worry. I'll be back. I'll find him, and bring him back." I said avoiding her question.

"Everett. Tell me what happened." She said seriously.

"I have to go. I'll be back soon. Good bye Em." I said as I hung up. I can't believe myself. I was going to find Zander. For Em. Something back could happen to me, but I know Em wouldn't be able to live in this world without Zander. They mean something special to each other. I will find him no matter what. I will do everything in my power to find him without Em finding out. I will be her knight in shining armor. Cheesy, I know, but whatever.

Ember's POV:

What the heck was that about? Who the heck is Everett going to find? Who is he going to bring back to me? I'm so confused. Something is definitely wrong.

I decided to go over to Everett's house, but nobody was home. So, I went over to Zander's house too, but no one was there either. How could they both be gone and not tell me?

"Hello?" I said into my phone.

"Hello Ember. It's been awhile hasn't it?" A deep voice said into the phone.

"Who is this?" I asked quickly.

"Aren't you happy to hear from me?" The voice said as he chuckled.

"Who are you, and how did you get my number?" I asked suspiciously.

"You just made me sound like a creeper. Which i'm not." The voice said seriously.

"How do I know you're not lying?" I said.

"Just trust me." the voice said quietly.

"Trust you? I don't even know who you are?" I said laughing.

"You just have an answer for everything don't you?" the voice asked.

"No.... Not everything."I said slowly.

"Oh. My bad. Of course you don't have the answer to everything! You don't even know where Zander and Everett are!" The voice said creepily.

"W- why would I need to know. Do you know something?" I stuttered.

"Who sounds like the creeper now?" The voice said sarcastically.

"Shut up and tell me what you know and who you are." I demanded.

"Now why would I do that babe?" He said.

"Don't call me babe." I said as I gritted my teeth together angrily.

"Why not?" He asked.

"Because that's impolite." I stated.

"You're not my mom." He said.

"At least I have one." I said wondering if that even made sense.

"What?" He asked.

"What?" I asked very confused.
