“Ow!! Mace, why’d you let go?!?” I yelled angrily. I could not believe she dropped me right in the middle of me flying in the air! “Mace, we’ve been over this! Don’t let go of me until I touch the ground!” I said as calmly as I could. I should probably try to stand. “Owww!!!” I screamed. My leg hurt so bad! I can’t even stand up, let alone walk!

“Em! Are you ok?” said Alyssa as she ran over to help me.

“Ya, I’m totally fine, that’s why I yelled- Of course I’m not ok!” I said obviously needing help. “Can you get someone to help me to the nurse's room?! Please?” I said, very hurt.

“Ok, I’m getting Zander!” She said while she ran away, smiling devilishly.

“No, don’t- “ Crap. This will be so embarrassing. I’m supposed to be scrimmaging the boys soccer team today. Zander is going to think I’m being a baby!

“Em! Ember! Em! Are you okay?!” Zander said as he came running from football practice without a shirt on.

Oh. My. Gosh! He was so hot! He. Had. A. Six. Pack. I knew he had a sixpack, and I’ve seen him run without a shirt on, but today... dang. I was so awestruck. I didn’t know what to do.

Next thing I know, I’m being carried to the nurses room by a shirtless Zander! “Uh... Zander... Where’s your shirt?” I asked him still very awestruck.

“Really Em? You hurt your ankle and you’re worried about my shirt?” Zander said in disbelief. “Come one, it’s not like you haven’t seen me with my shirt off before. You see it all the time from practice.” Zander said.

“Ya... I know, I guess I forgot...” I said very embarrassed. Good thing he doesn’t find things awkward very easily. “So.. Uh... Zander. You didn’t need to carry me here, I could have gotten someone else to do it. I mean... You’re so busy and all... “ I said clearly blushing.

“Nah. It’s ok Em! I used to always carry you when you got hurt. It reminds me of the old days. And well, I owe you.” Zander said, smiling.

Well, obviously he wasn’t the only one who missed those days. We used to play house, superheros, and a lot of kid stuff. Wait, he owes me?  “Wow Zander. Thanks, but I guess I was just mad when you decided to help Stella. I know you guys are dating and all, but it just makes me miss the old days. Wow, i’m making us sound so old!” I said laughing.

“Well, I guess all those days wearing superhero capes just made me feel like a grandpa now.” Zander said as he started to smile the cute, yet sensitive smile. “So... we haven’t hung out in a while! Maybe we should hang out after you get your leg or ankle fixed.” He said shyly.

“Oh... today? I don’t actually think I can, cuz Kayla was going to help Al and I study for our math test we apparently have soon.” I said rather disappointed.

“Oh... I guess I was going to go to the movies with Stell today anyway...”

“Well, maybe we can tomorrow?” I said a little too excitedly.

“Ya! Of course! Right after school tomorrow?”

“Absolutely!” I said calmly, which was really hard to do. “You’re still driving me home right?” I said kind of sacred.

“I wouldn’t miss it for the world. In a friend way of course.” Zander said laughing a little
