"Oh! Hey Em! Excited for tonight?" Zander said happily.

"Who wouldn't!" I exclaimed.

"What do you mean? We've always been friends!" said Zander, confused.

"Well... It's just that you're this super popular guy that any girl would DIE to go out with, and then there's me. Just an average girl that you've known since you were little..." I said embarrassed.

"Wait? You'd want to go out with me? Is that why you turn down every guy that asks you out?" said Zander, actually starting to put the "pieces together.

"Um... Oops. We better get to class! Don't want to be late!" I said walking away.

"Come on Em. Just a second." Zander said walking after me.

"Zander. We are going to be late. Either you stay, or come with me!" I said angrily.

"Em. We need to talk. I don't care if we're late!" Zander retorted as he grabbed my wrist.

"Ya, well Zander. Guess what? I do. So let go of me." I said even angrier as I pulled away.

"Seriously! Ember! Stop! Just talk to me. Please." Zander said a little sad, and angry.

"Ok. Zander. I don't feel like talking right now." I said sadly. "And Zander? I'm a person. You can't order me around. I think we should call off tonight." I said almost crying as I walked away right into the class.

"I'm sorry Ember... I just..." Zander said.

I never got to hear what Zander was going to say. I don't know what I'm feeling right now. I just feel so bad. To make matter's worse! I had to work on a project with Zander for journalism. But something was definitely wrong. He ditched. It wasn't like his usual ditches. This time it was those ditches where he wouldn't answer his phone even if he ditched. This. Was. Bad. I only know this not because I called or texted him, but because I overheard Stella telling Macey that he didn't answer her phone call or her texts. What have I done.
