"So? Was my cooking good?" Zander said curiously.

"Yes, it was. You'd make a perfect wife for Cam." I said smirking.

"I'm not gay!" He said laughing.

"I know! I just wanted to tease you!" I said smiling.

"So, speaking of Cam, did you really break up with him?" He said.

Did I just hear a hint of happiness there? Probably not. I haven't talked to him in a while, so I'm not familiar with his speaking tones yet. "I really did break up with him." I said flatly.

"Oh! That's good! At least I think it is..." He said obviously trying to cover up for something.

"Ok? Did I ever tell you that you've been acting differently around me lately? Because you are." I said slightly confused.

"Really? I've been acting different? Didn't notice. You've been acting differently too." He said obliviously.

"Well, I think we should both start acting normal again." I said as I punched him lightly in the arm.

"Sounds good to me!" He said grinning widely.

"See you tomorrow!" Zander yelled from his car window.

"Ok! Thanks for the ride! See ya!" I yelled as I walked into my house. I was at his house for such a long time. Good thing my parents were still at work. I should probably call Al and Kayla and tell them what happened. Today was a good day. Well most of it anyway.

DING DONG!!!

"Oh, hey Zander! You're here early! Hey... Stella?" I said in disbelief. Zander knew I didn't like Stella, so why would he bring her here? "What are you doing here Stella?" I asked as politely as I could.

"I decided to hang out with Zander before school. We decided that I could do that at our video chat last night!" She said smiling while gazing into Zander's eyes. Yuck! Why'd she have to do that in front of me? Wait? Video chat? Last night?

"So you guys had a video chat last night? Do you guys video chat often?" I asked defensively.

"Of course! We do it almost every night!" She said as she grabbed Zander's hand and dragged him inside my house without being invited in.

Normally I'd be fine with people I knew just walking into my house. But right now? I was not! "Who said you guys could come in?" I asked almost about to push them back outside.

"Come on Ember, you really think I'll listen to you? As if!" She said laughing.

"Ok, I'm sorry Zander but you need to leave and take your little pet with you. I'll find my own ride to school today." I said angrily.

"Um. Ok? If that's what you want! See you at school." Zander said as he dragged Stella out after him.

"You're going to regret ever saying that!" Stella growled.

That, was creepy. I don't think I've ever heard someone growl like that before!  I better watch my back. I should probably call Al to bring me to school today. I'll figure out this whole "Stella" thing soon. I hope.

“So she literally growled at you?” asked Kayla in disbelief.

“Who growls? That’s just creepy!” Said Lyssa as we walked into the school.

“Ya, she actually growled at me. I thought she was going too bite me! It was scary.” I said.

“Maybe you should sort things out with Zander? No one ever likes getting into fights.” Said Kayla as she pushed me towards Zander.

“Oh no! You are going to wait for that boy to talk to you! Whoever starts it, should finish it!” Lyssa said as she pulled me back.

“No! She should be the bigger person and talk to him first!” Kayla said as she pushed me towards Zander... again.

“That boy needs to be a man and talk to you first!” Lyssa said as she pulled me back towards her once again.

“You know what guys? I’m just going to wait, then if he doesn’t talk to me, i’ll go talk to him!” I said not trying to cause a fight.

“Ok... If that’s what you want!” Kayla and Lyssa said at the same time.

“Em! I’ve been wanting too talk to you all day since the whole “Stella” thing.” Zander said while making air quotes around the name Stella.

“Oh ya, me too, but I’ve just been so busy. Maybe we can talk about it later at the treehouse!” I suggested.

“That would be awesome. I’ll be there around 5. Just the two of us.” Zander said smiling as he walked away.

“So you have another date with Zander?” Lyssa asked suspiciously.

“Once again! It. Is. Not. A. Date. We are just going to sort out our little Stella problem.” I said irritated.  

“Whatever floats your goat!” Lyssa said laughing.

“It’s boat! Say it with me! BOAT! Whatever floats your BOAT!! How many times do I need to remind you about that?” I said trying to hold in a laugh.

“Well, sorry! I better leave, your boyfriend’s coming over here.” Lyssa whispered as she hurried away.

He is not my boyfriend... yet. At least I hope.

“Hey Em. So, I was wondering if you wanted to do our homework together? You know, before we talk about Stella.” He said while holding up a math book.

“Why not. So, you can come too my house right after school.” I said smiling.

“Sounds great! See you after school!” Zander said as he walked away.
