After about. 20 minutes of walking, I realized I turned a different way and ended up at... Zander's house. Why did I come here? I should probably leave.
"Ember? Is that you?" Said someone from behind me.
"Um, ya. It's me! Ember." I said a little scared.
"Oh! I haven't seen you in forever! It's me Tricia!" Exclaimed Tricia.
"Oh hey! Mrs. Jackson! It's nice to see you!" I said. Mrs. Jackson, aka, Tricia, was Zander's mom. She was like my 2nd mom. Everyone loved her.
"Oh Ember. Always so polite. I haven't seen you at our house in a very long time!" Mrs. Jackson said sadly.
"Oh thank you! I would've come to visit you more often, but things have been so crazy lately!" I said.
"Oh! How rude of me! It's raining so hard, and you're just standing there being drenched by the rain! Come in, please." Mrs. Jackson said as she held the door open for me.
"Oh thank you! I was just planning to go home, but I guess it would be fine if I stopped here for a while." I said smiling.
"So tell me Ember, are you and Zander still best friends?" She asked anxiously.
"Well, not really. I mean we're still friends but... You know." I said shyly.
"Oh. Well you feel free to stop by anytime! I'll just let you browse around the house until you're all warm. See you later!" She said smiling as she walked away.
As I walked around the house, I noticed pictures everywhere. Pictures of Zander and I everywhere. I guess we weren't the only ones that missed our childhood.
