Chapter 24: The underground monster

You were standing beside the X-Tornado, where Tails and Chris were sorta arguing.

"But I know I can fly the X-Tornado down into the crater" Tails swished his tails.

"It's too dangerous!" Chris argued

Sonic stepped forward.
"It's the only way to catch up to Eggman. I'm in.".

"I'm in too" You said, raising your hand up slightly.

"Rouge, what about you? You willing to come along?" Knuckles asked.

"Doesn't sound like I have a choice. If I stay behind, there won't be anybody on the team to look after you" She teased.

You smiled to yourself

"Ha! Very funny" Knuckles grumbled.

You stood on the wing of the X-Tornado next to Sonic.
Tails looked back at Sonic, silently asking "are you ready?"

Sonic gave him a nod and A thumbs up.

The X-Tornado lifted up and flew up above the volcano and than started to decent down slowly.

It landed in a cave, in the volcano. There were tracks.
At the end of the tracks it was blocked off.

"They blocked up the tunnel after they drove through. You see?" Rouge pointed at the tracks.

Sonic shrugged.
"That won't stop me" He Spindashed and rammed straight into the wall.

Everything started to shake.

With his stupid of a method he was going to cave you all in!

"If you don't stop digging, you're gonna bury us here!" Knuckles yelled.

"Heh, sorry" Sonic apologied and dusted off his fur.

"There's another tunnel here, but it's pretty narrow" Rouge said as she inspected the wall.

"Well, let's see where it goes" You walked in behind Rouge, Sonic and Knuckles followed after you.

It was dark, really dark.
Rouge stopped.
You nearly rammed into Rouge but then Sonic and Knuckles crashed into you, which caused you to crash into Rouge.

"Sorry Rouge" You apologized.
"Careful, those two have big heads. Good thing they're hard" She joked.
You giggled.

You walked into a lush green-lit part of the cave.
The moss growing on the wall was glowing a beautiful emerald green.

"It's some kind of fluorescent moss" Knuckles spoke as he inspected it.

"How'd you know that?" Rouge asked, clearly sarcastic.

"Easy. When you're a treasure hunter like me, you've been everywhere, you've seen all kinds of bizarre--".

" Come on, (y/n), Sonic" Rouge cut Knuckles off and began walking away.
