Chapter 29: An enemy in need

You, Cream, Cheese, Cosmo and Knuckles, were all walking through a town that was uncovered after the water disappeared from most of the planet.

The people were all gathered in the streets celebrating.

In the middle of the street were giant boats on wheels.
On one of the boats you saw Sonic, Amy, Chris and Tails being tossed up and down on a net.
It looked like fun.

"Hey guys!" You yelled.
"Look what we have!".

Sonic was bouncing up and down with and uninterested expression.
"A Chaos Emerald. Who found it!?".

" I did, 'cause I wasn't too busy partying with the locals" Knuckles frowned at him.

You looked at him slightly annoyed and pointed at yourself.
Sonic smirked and nodded.

"Wow, that looks like fun" Cream looked up.

"Yeah, if you wanna feel like a Jojo" Knuckles huffed.

"Why are they bouncing you like that?" Cosmo asked.

"It's for getting their planet egg back" Chris said as he bounced up and down.
You could tell he was getting a little sick.

"It's a token of their appreciation" Sonic smiled

"I'm appreciated enough!" Tails yelled as he bounced up and down.

"I can't take much more!" Amy yelled.

"This is so wonderful. I can't believe we already found one" Cosmo said while she walked next to you, admiring the beautiful dark blue Emerald.

"It means we only have six more to find doesn't it (Y/n)?" Cream said.
You smiled and nodded.
You put the emerd in your pocket.

"You down there! Friends of the heroes! Let us honor you too! Throw them here!" The civilians grabbed you and threw you up onto the ship.

You bounced up and down on the net. It was really fun!

"This is actually really fun! It reminds me of flying!"
You laughed.

"Wow, when was the last time I saw you laugh like this (y/n)?" Sonic asked.
You shrugged mid air.

After the parade Knuckles went on a walk and than came back and told us that he met Eggman.

Something about his ship not having enough power and that he couldn't fix it without a chaos emerald.

"You want us, to let Dr. Eggman use the chaos emerald" Sonic raised an eyebrow and looked at you.

You rolled your eyes

Knuckles nodded
"He promised to abandon his evil ways if we help him out".

You facepalmed.

"We've heard that before" Tails frowned.

"Tails is right Knuckles" Chris shook his head.
