chapter 17: spots off

MARI'S POV:

"Tikki..."

"Yes Marinette?"

"A-adrien..."

"Hmm?"

"he's Chat Noir?"

Tikki looked at me in shock. She had been in my bag when Adrien transformed.

"How did you-?"

"When I got back to school I couldn't find anyone. Then I looked in Mme. Bustier's classroom and I saw Volpina and Adrien. The door locked and I was kind of stuck. Volpina was about to attack me but Adrien transformed and saved me..."

"Oh. I didn't kno-"

"You were in my bag..."

"Well, what do you think about it?"

"I don't know what to think..."

"Here, let me help. Who does Chat like?"

"Ladybug?"

"Who is Chat?"

"Adrien?"

"Therefore, who does Adrien like?"

"...Ladybug?"

"Yes."

I looked at her confused. What was that supposed to make me think? She could tell I still didn't get it so she added:

"Who's Ladybug?"

"Me."

"Mhm."

"Okay... Adrien likes Ladybug and Ladybug is... Wait! Adrien likes me? ADRIEN LIKES ME! TIKKI!!!"

"I know Marinette."

"Wait, but, he likes Ladybug, not Marinette..."

"So?"

"I want to be with him Tikki, but how???"

"I- Here. Why don't you reveal yourself?"

"What? But you were the one who-"

"I know, but you already know his identity, may as well."

"O-okay... but, what if-?"

"Just say spots on!"

"I don't want to say spots on yet- TIKKI!"

I unwillingly transformed. Great. So, I guess I can just invite Chat to the eiffel tower and... figure it out from there?

I texted Chat using my bug-phone to meet me at the eiffel tower at sunset. This way I'll have enough time to figure out what to say... Hours sped by like seconds and it quickly became sunset.

Chat vaulted onto the eiffel tower where I already was. I inhaled deeply, it's time i guess...

"Hey Chat!"

"Milady! What's wrong? Why'd you want to meet?"

"Well, I- I know who you are."

"What?"

"I know your secret identity."

I saw Chat's face go through a series of emotion. Confusion, surprise, confusion, happiness, and then... hurt?

"W-Who told you?"

"Huh?"

"Who told you?" His face turned to one of disgust "Was it Lila?" 

"No!"

"If she didn't-" His face turned back to hurt, "it was Marinette? No, it can't, she would never!"

"No one told me, Chat."

"What?" 

"No one needed to. Tikki,"

"Milady!"

"spots off."

oooooh. sorry for the wait! i really need to stop procrastinating. anyways, next chapter will be the last (then maybe an epilogue?) yayyy! you know what's cool? chloe wasn't even the reason they learned each others identities! anyways,
