FALO STOOD BESIDE RAVEN, staring at the infused nightblood man, squeezing Raven's hand to comfort both of them as they watched Jackson and Abby perform whatever they needed to do on the man to see if this solution worked.

Which she really hoped it did, or else the human race would be wiped out.

"Vitals signs are strong," Abby informed them. "Jackson, seal the chamber."

"Copy that."

Inside, where it was safe, Falo could hear the black rain pounding on the roof from the inside, which was surprising, considering Becca's lab looked high tech. You'd think you wouldn't be able to hear it from the inside.

They all watched as he shut the door to the chamber the man laid inside. Falo's heart dropped, knowing he would suffer if this solution didn't work at all like they hoped.

"He's ready." Jackson told everyone.

"Yeah," Raven frowned. "But are we?"

Everyone exchanged glances, their eyes wide. No one was ready to watch a man suffer for this so they could live. Emori shook her head in disbelief, eyes widened in alarm.

"The guys a monster." Emori spoke up. Murphy placed a hand on her arm to calm her down.

"We've already been over this. None of us wants to do this," Clarke sighed. "But the death wave will be here in ten days."

Ten days, Falo thought, shocked.

She didn't know it was basically already here. She thought they'd still had a month left, she didn't realize all that time had passed already.

Right about now, Falo hoped Jaha had gone to Polis to find that bunker they both thought may be there. If this didn't work, that bunker would be their only chance for survival.

"Luna's stem cells grafted successfully," Clarke continued, glancing back at Seikru who glanced up at her, then to Falo who nodded. "Baylis is making nightblood on his own. This really is our only hope."

Murphy scoffed. "We're still talking about this? Black rain is already here. eighteen people died from it yesterday at Arkadia, so if nightblood can let us to walk around in it, I, for one, want to know about that."

Falo nodded. "Yeah, I do, too."

Clarke glanced around at everyone to see them also nodding in agreement. Clarke looked back at her mother, her heart beat pounding against her rib cage.

Abby nodded. "Okay. Jackson proceed."

"Copy that," he sighed. "Initiating." he pressed on a couple buttons, beeping the process, before he turned the radiation wheel, the machine thrumming. "Five-hundred REM."
