Abandoned Classroom

I tapped my foot nervously, waiting for Ron and Hermione to arrive. Roger and Wayne were by my side as Kevin attempted to retrieve the two Gryffindors.

Even though Justin and I had begun to repair the friendship we had, he still was distant to me and wouldn't help us. It was a little sad but I had other things to worry about right now.

Of course, we weren't going to have this conversation anywhere someone could walk in on us and so I brought everyone to an abandoned classroom.

"Don't worry Sly. I'm sure they won't be mad at you," Wayne told me soothing.

"Who could be mad at someone like you," Roger whispered quietly.

'I know, I know. But still. I did snap at them and left them without any explanation. What if they are mad?' I gently chewed on my lip, fidgeting and pulling at a set of stitches on my hand.

Before either could say anymore, Kevin spun around the corner. "I got them- Sly! Stop that, bad badger!" Kevin moved my hand away from the newly reopened scab, dabing my hand with some tissue to remove the blood.

I pouted as Kevin told me off but didn't try to fight him.

"Sly? What's going on?" Ron came up to us, sitting next to us on the nearby desk.

'I need to talk to you two but you can't tell anyone about it or I'll get in a lot of trouble,' I wrote with surprising calm. At least my magic was steadier than my hand or that might not have been legible.

"What is it? You can tell us," Hermione said, looking at me with clear worry.

Roger placed a hand on my shoulder and squeezed it while Kevin kept his grip on my hand. Wayne secretly blocked off the only exit so Ron and Hermione couldn't get away.

Taking a deep breath, I whispered under my breath and dropped my glamour. I could hear Hermione horrified gasp as she covered her mouth. I couldn't hear Ron, was he in shock? The longer we sat in silence the worse I got.

"Sly? What happened to you?" Ron gently kneeled in front of me, tilting my chin slightly so I could look in his eyes.

'It's a long story, one that I actually don't have a lot of detail on. Pretty ironic as it's my story. All I know is that I can't die or heal and that it scared my old relatives so they hurt me in an attempt to kill me.'

"You're immortal..." Ron looked horrified as he gently brought his hand up, making me flinch. He frowned as he brushed his fingers against a line of stitches that went across my cheek. "Does it hurt?"

'Not anymore. But I don't mind it when it does. It's ticklish when it does and it's funny.'

Ron looked startled by my words, he gave a worried look to the other badgers at my side.

"He is a little insane and laughs when he is in pain. He has tons of nightmares and talks to his snake like she can talk back," Kevin stated bluntly making me flinch.

Though the Ama thing was a bit funny, she could talk back anyway.

"But he is one of us. And we will look after him," Roger finished, bringing me into a sideways hug.

"I'm sorry Sly. I must have seemed so insensitive. Forgive me?" Ron looked unsure and uncomfortable from apologising but I was happy.

I jumped up, wrapping my arms around his neck and giggling. 'Thank you Ron! You are the best!'

Ron blushed at my praise, leaning slightly forward so that my feet could touch the ground.

I spun around to turn to Hermione who I now realising was crying. 'Hey, what's wrong?'

"Your childhood must have been awful! I can't imagine my parents shouting at me let alone try to kill me! I'm so sorry this happened to you!" Hermione jumped up, wrapping her arms around me.

'Its alright Mione, don't cry. Remember? You promised me that we learn sign language together.'

"So...? What are we gonna do now?" Kevin swung his legs back and forth on the desk while watching us.

Mione had calmed down and was sitting by my side with Ron on my other. Roger and Kevin had brought out a game of wizard chess at some point and was playing with Wayne watching.

"Oh, no! We forgot to go to Hagrids!" Hermione jumped up and pulled Ron up from the ground.

"It's too late now, it's getting dark outside," Kevin pointed out simply.

Roger stood up, stretching his legs out. "We should head back to the common rooms."

"No, we need to go talk to him now," Ron said, pulling himself up.

"Sly, couldn't you get that weird cloak to sneak them there," Roger suggested awkwardly.

"Roger? Breaking the rules? Who are you?" Kevin smiled as Roger pushed him away.

"Shut up," Roger ordered quietly.

'That is a great idea Roger!' I hopped up, grabbing my cloak out of my bag.

"I thought you didn't like going against the rules," Wayne pointed out as I wrapped the fabric around the two Gryffindors.

'I don't. But have no problems in helping those two not get caught. That is the basic philosophy of Hufflepuff, isn't it? To be loyal and true no matter what!' Once both Hermione and Ron were invisible, I giggled and jumped up to the other badgers. 'Oh, and you two better give me that back!'

I grabbed Roger's and Wayne's arms and dragged them out, laughing all the way. Kevin followed on behind me, laughing as my words flashed in front of the others too quickly for them to read.

"Wait up Sly! You forgot your glamour!"

Collapsing on the sofa, I sighed contently. Hermione and Ron were still my friends and they weren't going to get in trouble because of me. It's been a very good day.

"Har- Sly? Could we talk?"

And like that, my good day ends.
