Slowly, the train pulled into the station as we got off. Hagrid was calling us over to him so he could take us safely to the castle. Ama curled around my neck, scaring off a few of the students who came near.

Ron stayed by my side as we got into the boat. He looked uneasy which was quite funny. I didn't get why he was so unsteady on the boat. Boats were very easy to control. Ama laughed to the other students who mainly looked unsteady.

I didn't risk getting out my notebook, it would be a disaster if it fell into the lake. I tapped his shoulder, checking to see if he was okay. He gave me a comforting smile before taking a few deep breaths to calm himself down. I let out a giggle when the boat moved and we came to Hogwarts.

The castle stood proudly, her golden light shone out into the lake gaining gasps and awes of delight. She was an impressive castle, who hummed down at us in joy of the new students. She did love new students, she told me when we would talk in the hospital wing.

She was created from powerful magic and only talked to those she chose but some can feel her presence. I hope Ron can, it would be awkward to have him, or any one else, walking in on me talking to 'nothing'. Not that they would know what I say as I speak in the language of the snakes, not one of the men.

Swiftly, Hagrid led us up the steps to the great hall. The castle twisted and turned and made it hard to navigate. It wasn't hard for me, it was easy to sense my way through the castle walls.

I could hear the loud chatter inside the hall, the whole school must be in there. McGonigal was waiting to greet us, she said something about the four houses and waiting. Neville, or who I assumed was Neville found his toad half way through and interrupted McGonigal, that was quite funny. She didn't think so but she never finds anything funny.

She turned around, telling us to wait, and left into the great hall.

I started to look around me, spotting many great paintings but found myself smiling at the one that held Emerick in it. Emerick was a kind man who was teaching me a kind of sign language using my powers.

"So it's true, Harry Potter has come to Hogwarts." A platinum haired boy came out, looking at me with a quirk in his brow.

I pulled out my book, smirking as I wrote 'apparently,' down on the paper.

Ron let out a snort, shocked by the levels of sass that I managed to get in from a single word.

"He is mute," Ron filled in, noticing the boy's odd expression. "He uses the book to speak to us."

"Right," the boy said, distaste dripping from his voice. "I am Malfoy, Draco Malfoy."

I heard Ron give a snort, making me tilt my head at him.

"Think my name is funny? I don't need to ask for yours. Red hair and a hand me down robe, you must be a Weasley. Soon you'll find that some wizarding families are better than others, I can help you with that." Draco held out his hand for me to take but instead I grabbed my book.

'I do not care for status. If you have a problem with hand me downs then I have a feeling we will not get along as I spent most my life in 'hand me downs'. I do not like making enemies, they are boring and usually hurt. If you wish to be a friend, I will take your hand, but only if you wish to be a friend.' I shoved out my book, fire burning in my eyes, Ama slithered down my arm, coming close to Draco's arm.

Draco seemed to pull back, making my frown but offered his hand out again. I smiled and shook it before putting my book away.

McGonigal returned and tapped Draco's shoulder, making him move out the way.
