"I think that's enough for today."

Not waiting for a response, I gather my things as quickly as possible so I can leave as soon as possible. I ignore Mark's lingering stare, focusing on arranging my things into my backpack. This past hour has been nothing but unspoken tension between us and I can't wait to bolt.

As much as I never want to see him again, especially after what I discovered last week, we still have that assignment to work on together. While working on my part of the assingment alone, I had declined all his calls and left all his texts unreplied until I gave in, knowing that there's a lot more we have to discuss and adjust. I wish I could say "fuck it" and only care for my half of the work, but we'll be graded as a group. Unfortunately, my GPA is way more important than Mark.

"Haeyi, can we—" Mark asks softly as I stand up from the table.

"What?" I snap. A few heads turn to our direction, someone even shushes me, but I pretend I don't notice.

Mark seems taken aback by my attitude, yet lets me go anyway, saying that we'll talk another time. I don't bother responding and march out the library. My period is starting soon; I'm already emotionally unstable and hanging out with my disaster of an ex-boyfriend is only making it worse. The thought of meeting Donghyuck later for Justice isn't helping me either. Just yesterday, when I went to visit him at soccer practice under the pretense that I'm a supportive girlfriend, we argued about politics and food seasoning and Pingu. God, he exhausts me.

Outside the library, in the empty corridor, I come face to face with the homewrecker. Chaeyoung. Oh, wait, Mark was the homewrecker. Anyways, this bitch (pardon my French) has stopped in her tracks and she doesn't look very happy to see me. I had told Mark that we can meet up for the assignment only if his little princess doesn't tag along so I assume she's here to pick him up or something. Whatever. I don't care.

I roll my eyes, making sure she sees and intend on just passing her by, but she stops me. She glowers at me.

"I want to talk to you." she says.

"Well, I don't. I have a meeting." I answer, attempting to leave only for her to grab my elbow. I harshly shake her hand off.

"Don't touch me." I warn her.

Chaeyoung looks a little intimidated by the way she straightens up and flinches at my tone. She then clears her throat and asks, "You and Lee Donghyuck aren't really dating, are you?"

     Shit.

     Aw, fuck. She's spot on.

I manage to put on a brave face, scoffing. "What are you talking about?"

"I'm talking about how it's weird that my ex-boyfriend is somehow dating my boyfriend's ex-girlfriend," Chaeyoung crosses her arms. "Sounds to me a lot like a pathetic case of a revenge attempt."
