Sayuri
"Tara na pasok na tayo." Mavy said and held my hand. I felt my face heat up and I just looked away in embarrassment, we were on our way to find Bryan and his team. Mavy invited me to join them watch the cheer dance competition.
I actually don't want to go because I just want to rest for the weekend, but he made me go and said I should just wear his jacket to support our school. Besides that I don't have a yellow university shirt, I don't know anyone from the team and I'd rather stay at home.
He was leading the way to find his former teammates. When we found them, Bryan gave me a headband and yellow balloons to support them. I felt uncomfortable talking to them because there are a lot of people looking at us, especially at the jacket I'm wearing—Mavy's jacket.
I would get stared at or glared by some people and I don't know why. Maybe it's because of Mavy, because I'm with him. But we're not a couple! We're just friends! A group of girls went to us and asked for a photo with Mavy, one of them is raising a brow at me and giving me a side eye.
I don't know why she's being like that and just looked at the ground, one girl asked me to take a photo of them and I agreed. After that Mavy declined nicely to the video they want him to do and held my hand so we could exit.
I heard this girl who was glaring at me earlier said, 'malandi' which I found rude because I didn't do anything bad towards her. I really don't understand some of his fans, I remember Suzy telling me how mean they are and how degrading it is to be judged by them. I feel bad for her that she had to go through that, Suzy didn't deserve that.
When we found our seats, I sat in between Mavy and Bryan. I tried my best to ignore the stares I'm receiving from anyone so I just looked down to avoid their gaze. Mavy asked if I was okay and I told him I was because I don't want to ruin this day for him. I know he wanted to watch and support our school so I should just ignore those people who are looking at me.
"Humble ka pa! Ikaw nga laging hinahanap sa team ng mga fan girls!" Bryan said, I was teasing Mavy earlier because of his fan girls. "Alam mo ba, siya yung pinaka-sikat samin dati nung nasa team pa siya." He explained how a lot of universities tried to steal him away from UST, but Mavy is loyal to his alma mater, he still chose this university.
"Really? Wow, everybody likes you." I said to Mavy. He told me he love this university so much and was interrupted when a man called him, it was the mens basketball's coach. They talked for a while and when they finished talking the event finally started.
I was amazed by the performances of different universities. When it's UST's turn we all stood up and cheered, I was having a hard time to keep up with the chant and was too shy to do it but Mavy offered to help me. He moved behind me and held my right hand to sway my arms along with the chant.
I looked away when he smiled at me, I don't know if it was obvious that I'm blushing from embarrassment. When our representatives are finished with our routine we sat down. Bryan asked Mavy to go out with them, they're going to drink since he said they'll go to a club. I'd probably just book an uber to go home.
"Pass. May pupuntahan pa kami ni Sayuri." Mavy said and I looked at him in shock.
"Hey it's fine! You can go." I said trying to convince him, I don't want to take away his time with his friends and I can go home by myself.
Mavy raised a brow, "May pupuntahan nga tayo 'di ba?" I shut my mouth after that, sometimes Mavy can be so bitchy to me and it's annoying. While we're watching Mavy put his cap on my head.
