Black Star Story ~ A Star Can Love Too

Chapter 10

*Black☆star's point of View*

A sudden knock on the door awakes me, and I sit up to looking around the room. I see through the curtains covering the window that its still night. Who can be knocking now? I need beauty sleep!

I slowly walk to the door, hearing another knock, and I slowly open the door. I see both Cassy and Aden dressed in sleeping wear, Aden wearing basket ball shorts and Cassy using some what short PJ's. I stare at them in annoyance and glare at them. "What?" I ask, my voice cracking unintentionally.

"You were already asleep?" Cassy asks. I shush her, moving myself outside the door and closing it behind me.

"Be quiet. Tsubaki is sleeping." I say. Cassy drops a sweat and apologizes.

"Sorry, I just have something to tell you, but I guess it will just be me and Aden." She sounds some what sarcastic, and I don't like it. I sigh.

"Tell me, I want to know. Black☆star must know about this." I tell her. Cassy smiles and tells me about her calling Lord Death. She explains that she was curious about certain things including the capture of Jeff the Killers soul that involved them going downtown and checking the place out. Cassy was also worried, which got me thinking.

"So do you want to come or would you rather stay and sleep?" She asked. "I wanted to invite you so don't get the wrong idea." She added. I feel friend zoned. Now I really don't want to go anymore.

"Well, you guys were curious and so, I don't think I should go. I'll just stay here and sleep, thank you very much." I told them. Aden walked to the room next to ours and opened the door, walking inside. Cassy looked somewhat disappointed but she didn't bother in continuing or saying anything. She smiles and walks off, leaving me at the door frame.

"What do you plan to take?" I hear Aden tell Cassy. He sounds very loud, more than usual I should say. I frown closing the door behind me. I lay back next to Tsubaki and hear the door next to ours click.

"Let's just make sure not to do anything stupid." I hear Cassy say. As they both beginning to leave more down the hallway, more I was worried. I should have said yes, but... I don't want to be around Aden, and I didn't want to leave Tsubaki. It sucks to be stuck in between.

'Morning'

It was finally morning, and I woke up with such a relief. I was taking a shower while Tsubaki watched the news, keeping her eye out for news on Jeff. I quickly get out of the shower and dress myself. I use one of the towels and dry my hair while I slowly open the door to the living room. I look up to see Maka, Soul, Kid, Liz, and Patty looking at me. I stare at them in a bit of surprise, and I became even more surprised when Tsubaki came to me.

"Black*star, have you seen Cassy and Aden?" She asked very worried. I sighed and smiled a bit annoyed.

"Yeah, they went to go check out the murders in Downtown New Jersey." I said. "Cassy told me she called Lord Death to let them investigate that it might be involved with Jeff. Why? Did they come back?" Tsubaki looked down at her hands, looking even more worried than before.

"They haven't returned Black*star," Maka spoke up.

"We checked they're room and they weren't there." Soul said. My eyes widen. I just realized what Cassy said yesterday. She said to not do something stupid, and it became true. Something yesterday , told me to go with them, but I didn't because I didn't want to see Aden. I feel anger built inside me. How can I have been so stupid? If I went with them, they would have been safe, and I wouldn't have been worrying now, and regretting it. How could I have been so stupid?!
