Lust's POV (Age 5)

I watched intently through the window, waiting for daddy to come home from work. The snow covered our street, layering everything with a thin sheet of ice. Mommy laughed at my restlessness.

After an hour of standing on the couch, staring out the window, I saw a car pull into the driveway. I jumped off and dashed to the front door. Daddy walked into the house, completely covered in snow.

Me: Daddy!

Dad: Pumpkin. How was your day?

He asked as he picked me up from the ground. I gave him a thumbs up and smile widely. My eyes caught a glimpse of the shiny badge that was hiding under his trench coat. An eagle could be seen on it. He always wore it to work but I never understood why.

He set me back down and handed me a bag.

Dad: Merry Christmas. Santa wanted me to give this to you early.

He smiled as I stared at the bag that he was handing me. I took it from him with a happy yet confused expression.

Me: But it's not Christmas.

Dad: I know, I know but this one is special.

A childish grin appeared as I jumped into a stool at the island of the kitchen. I slowly started taking the contents out of the bag. I stared at the objects. It was a female fashion doll that came with a lot of different outfits.

You see, Daddy understood that I wasn't like other boys and he accepted it. He loved me. It didn't matter what I liked or that I acted differently from the others.

I admired the carefully crafted, changeable figurine. A gasp bursted from my mouth. I hugged my dad tightly.

Me: Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I kept repeating those words until it was drilled into my parents' minds. I wanted to make sure that they knew I was truly grateful for their gift.

Me: Mommy, can I play with her? Or do I have to wait until Christmas?

Mom: Go ahead.

Me: Yes!

I ran into the living room and tripped on the carpet along the way.

Dad: Calm down turbo.

He laughed while he watched me get up and start running again.

(Time Skip)

I was putting a dress on the doll when I heard my parents talking. I decided to eavesdrop but I continued to look like I was occupied with playing.

Mom: I told you to be careful. The Holidays are around the corner and sleet is covering the roads. It's getting more dangerous by the day.

Dad: I'm sorry Honey but it's my job. I became a police officer so I can save other people from things like this. I also make sure criminals stay off the streets and don't cause any problems.

Mom: And what if you crash or a robber with a gun shoots you? The ambulance from my work might not be able to make it in time.

Dad: That's not going to happen.

Mom: I'm a nurse. I see injuries and deaths like this all the time. I don't want you getting hurt out there.
