Ink's POV
I sat on the floor of the grey cell and rubbed my stomach, making sure that Gradient was okay. I've been praying every night, hoping that Error will come and save me. I still was slightly unable to process this entire thing. The grandfather of my child kidnapped me. He seemed to be using me as bait for my lover. But... I don't know the reason as to why this mysterious man was doing... all of this.
Since I had all the time in the world, I decided I would observe my surroundings. My cell was located in a wide concrete hallway. It connected to a room to my left. To my right, was a thick metal door. The door probably led to the main part of the building. I looked to the left again. The room was too hidden to be able to make out anything. However, if I moved fully against the iron bars, I could see a bookshelf and a desk.
'Is that... an office?'
Suddenly, the heavy metal door opened. Echo and the grandfather of Gradient walked into the wide, cold hallway. I backed away in slight fear. I was scared that they might try to harm me or my child. I waited for them to open the bars of my cage but they walked right past me. They didn't even look at me with the expected violent expression. It was like they didn't want to hurt me. Just to lock me in this cell.
I watched them walk into the room and then stop.
Echo: Okay so, let's talk about the plan.
???: There is no plan.
Echo: What do you mean by that?
???: I mean exactly what I say.
Echo: I thought you would have something since you're the entire reason why this whole racism thing exists.
They weren't able to finish their conversation before the door opened and a human rushed in. He was panting. Seemed he was running.
Human: Sir, we- we have a security breach. We can't stop him. He's way too strong. We can't even make a scratch on him.
Echo ran towards the human. Error's father didn't make a move. There wasn't a single bit of emotion that could be seen on his face.
'Were you expecting this?'
Before Echo could leave the room with the human, the unknown man spoke to him.
???: Echo.
Echo: Yeah?
???: Kill Error.
That name broke me. I couldn't afford to lose Error. I couldn't afford to lose my lover. Banging myself against the iron bars, I caught the attention of Error's father.
Me: Why are you doing this?!
???: He tried to kill me! So I'm teaching him a lesson!
Me: Because you abused him to no end.
???: I did it for a reason!
Me: For what reason?! Why did you hurt him?
He went silent. His words evading his own mouth. I began to see a side of him that I haven't met. Finally, he spoke quietly.
???: He reminded me of myself. Too much like myself and I couldn't understand it. I couldn't understand why I didn't like it. So... I resorted to what I've always known... violence. I kept doing it because it made his demeanor different. It made matters worse when his mother... my wife, passed away. I perceived that her death was my fault. Which in turn, made me believe that it was his fault as well.
