Killer's POV
It was the middle of the night. Currently 00:34, I believe. For some reason, my sores kept me up tonight. I felt more pain than normal. So I thought I would pass the time sitting in the living room, alone. Luckily I had my phone this time.
I was laying on the couch when I heard footsteps from the stairs. They were so silent and slow. I peered over the back of the couch and saw Dream carefully taking light steps, trying now to make a loud sound. Once he made it down the stairs, he looked around with a soft expression. He eyes landed on me.
Dream: I knew I sensed someone awake. Couldn't sleep I'm guessing?
He voice always had a slight angelic tone. Completely different from Nightmare, which was more demonic and deep.
Me: Yeah. I feeling more pain than I normally would.
Dream: I think I can help with that.
He walked over to me and kneeled down. He used some of his magic to numb the soreness. It wouldn't last that long but it would have to do for now.
Dream: That should be a little better.
I leaned my head against the arm rest of couch and stared at the chandelier hanging from the ceiling. Dream snapped his fingers. Not in a way to use magic, more like he had an idea.
Dream: We can go to the balcony. I can bring some pastries and some wine.
Me: Wine is for pussies.
He sighed playfully.
Dream: Fine. I'll bring wine and gin. You can get a head start to the second floor.
We agreed that we would meet back up on the balcony. Dream went to the pantry to get the pastries and drinks while I walked up the stairs towards the upper floor. I stopped at a glass double door that led to my desired location. Opening it, the sound of rustling leaves, the singing of crickets, the smell of pine, and starry black sky flooded my senses. Nightmare kept a table out here so that if we wanted, we could hang out in the outdoors. There was also a bench closer to the front railing.
I sat down on a chair and stared at the moon that was high in the sky. It looked like a Bruce Almighty moon.
'God I'm old.'
The air had a slight chill and I felt the small breeze blow against at my bones. Dream came out with a plate that had type of cake on it as well as bottle of wine and gin.
Me: What's that?
Dream: Victoria Sponge. It's more popular back in England. Here, try it.
He handed me a slice. The soft cake had a small layer of strawberry jam and the top was coated with powder sugar. I took a bite and immediately, I fell in love the sweetness of the jam and cake.
Me: This delicious cake existed and I didn't know about it.
Dream laughed as he sat down across from me. He took his own slice and poured himself a glass of white wine.
(Time Skip)
It had been maybe two hours and the Victoria Sponge was almost gone. I was currently working on my third glass of gin and Dream was taking small sips from his second glass. There was only piece left.
Dream: You can have it.
He smiled at me. His smile was the sweetest thing I've every experienced in my twenty nine years of living. I realized he was shivering slightly.
