Fell's POV

I was laying under a tree, praising the fact that shade existed. I had just finished my daily drill. Classic was sitting next to me staring at the other trainees. We pretty much have been working together for the past week because the General thought we would be good partners.

Classic tapped me on the shoulder and offered me a cracker.

Me: Thanks.

I was enjoying the cracker when I heard yelling from the camp. Classic and I instinctively got and started running towards the sound.

We found the General.

Classic: What's happening?

General: There is an attack five-hundred meters west from here. We need to head there immediately.

Me: Yes sir.

We followed the General and a group of people he brought with him.

(Time Skip)

We made it to the area where the attackers were located. It looked like it was a massacre. The dead bodies of our comrades were laying lifeless on the ground. Their bodies were drenched in their own blood. The invaders were no where to be found.

General: Everyone look around. See if you can find anyone who is still alive.

I followed Classic into a small tent. In the tent was a morse code communicator. A dead body was laying next it. I figured he was killed right after he sent a distress signal. I saw a small desk next to the communicator. There was a photo frame and a stack of papers on it. I picked up the photo. The picture itself was a little faded and it's edges were torn, showing its age. It showed a cleanly shaved young man in a formal outfit. Next to him was a male skeletal bride. They were gay.

Classic: They were expecting.

Quick lesson, monsters have different reproductive systems. Which means males can get pregnant as well. It all just depends on who is dominant and who is submissive.

I looked at Classic. He was holding one of the papers. It was a letter.

[The Letter]

My dearest, 09-XX-20XX

I know how you dislike phones so I decided to write a letter to you. It has been nine months since you left. Any day our baby can be born now. I hope that one day, you will be able to see our baby boy. Surprise, it's a boy. I didn't want to do an over the top gender reveal party. However, I have some bed news. Your father has passed away from a car crash. I attended his funeral last Sunday. Your mother was devastated so I had to calm her down. She kept rambling about how you weren't here to say goodbye. I had to tell her that you were overseas. I know you trained to be an assassin to earn money for our family but, I need you to come back to me. I'm afraid that I might lose another one of my beloved family members.

Sincerely,
Your beloved wife~

[End of Letter]

Me: He is going to be so sad when he finds out that his husband was murdered.

Classic: Especially since he is the father of that kid. Oh, here's another one.

The paper had tears stains which caused some of the words to be smudged.

[The Letter]

My dearest, 29-XX-20XX

I don't know how to phrase this but, our baby has passed away because of a soul problem. It seems like we can't get a break, can we? Your brother and his wife were murdered in their own home. I now have to take care of their two little girls. I have to say, they are quite a handful. They've been crying constantly. I have become worried about you. You haven't written back in a while. Please come home soon.

Sincerely,
Your beloved wife~

[End of Letter]

Classic sighed and set the letters back on the table.

Classic: That's a shame.

We walked out of the tent. The General was standing in the middle of the small camp.

General: Did you find anything?

Classic: We only found letters between two lovers.

They started talking together while I spaced out. Suddenly, I caught movement in the corner of my eyes. In the trees was..... a sniper! He was aiming for Classic. Something inside of me ordered to push him out of the way.

Me: Watch out!

I felt a bullet pierce my soul then.... everything went black.

Classic's POV

'Please be alive. Please be alive.'

I grasped my dog tag and stared at Fell. After he was shot, we took down the sniper and took Fell to the medic. Sci, a skeleton scientist, was currently taking care of him.

Sci was leaning in a little, putting his hand over Fell's mouth to make sure he was breathing. Suddenly, Fell woke up, his red eye glowing brightly. He grabbed Sci's arm and slammed him into a nearby metal table. I got up and held his shoulders. He was still sitting on the cot. The urge to kill within him was overpowering.

Me: Calm down Fell. Deep breaths.

He stared at me with a look in his eyes. A look of familiarity. He leaned into my chest and was breathing heavily.

Me: You're okay. No one is going to hurt you.

I went to pull away to check on Sci but Fell started hugging me tightly and wouldn't let go.

Me: I need to make sure you didn't kill him.

Fell: No you don't. He's not dead. I only temporarily paralyzed him.

(Time Skip)

We waited for Sci to get movement back to his limbs. Once he did, he was cautious.

Sci: I'm going to need you to leave.

I nodded and stood up.

Fell: He can't.

Sci: Why not?

Fell: He's my partner. We are to never leave each other's side.

That's weird. He never cared about the whole buddy system. Only until now has he really followed the rules.

He's acting strange
