Chapter 93 - Fresh's Gift - (Short Chapter)

Crow's POV

I sat on a bench on the street, waiting for Fresh to get out of school since I was suspended... again. This time, I got into a fist fight with one of Ayden's friends. So for the entire day, I've been walking around town. I just wanted to get out of the facility. Lately, I've been getting a bit nervous. I was turning eighteen in a few weeks which means I would have to leave the orphanage since I'm basically an adult now. Luckily the facility pays me for helping out and I have a job. It should be enough for me to get a small apartment.

I felt someone tap me on the head. Fresh was staring at me when I looked up to see who it was. He had his backpack thrown over his shoulder and his shades were off. When he sat down, he awkwardly leaned against me. A few days ago I asked him out. Yup, I've finally accepted it. I'm gay.

Fresh: Are you okay?

Me: Not really. I'm thinking about the future. Where I have to find a place of my own.

Fresh: Are you brothers going with you?

Me: I haven't given much thought to it. I could adopt them but legally, they have to stay there.

We stood up and walked towards the coffee shop, holding hands. I opened the door and let him in first. After we sat down, Fresh gave me the homework that I've missed. As I wrote, I felt Fresh's eyes on me. That's when he slid a box in front of me. Giving him a confused look, I slowly opened it. Inside was a crystal pendant. It was a shade of lavender. When I turned towards him in surprise, I noticed that he was looking away and blushing.

Fresh: I- was going... to give that to you on your birthday but I wasn't patient enough.

Me: Thank you.
