Over the next week or two, I found that I had been spending a considerable amount of time with Sirius. It was very different from being at the Bones Manor, considering the fact that Sirius was home all day, everyday. And Amelia was rarely not working.

We kept each other company, morning til night, and I had grown to adore my uncle. People would pop into 12 Grimmauld Place quite often, but they never stayed very long. To begin with, These people, (who were often Professors at Hogwarts) would lock themselves in the kitchen to have secret meetings about the order.

After much convincing on Sirius' part, I was finally allowed to enter these meetings. They weren't nearly as interesting as I had anticipated, but it gave me a warm feeling of accomplishment when I was able to contribute to the conversation. They found the information I had on my father, though limited, still very helpful.

In those few years I had spent moving around with the Death Eaters, and those months I'd spent in the same home as my father. (Not that I would consider it a home) I had picked up some fairly useful information.

Although the Death Eaters were very good at keeping their business secret, I was also rather good at discovering them. You'll find its very beneficial when you befriend a Death Eaters house-elf, as they tend to be rather keen to help you out once they take a liking to you.

House elves are actually far more gossip thirsty than you'd think. Constantly hearing what their masters are saying amongst each other. And although house elves are well accustomed to keeping their masters private discussions, well.. Private. They still found themselves eager to share what they had over heard, their overflowing knowledge would soon become burdens for these house elves.

And even though House elves were not able to disobey their masters, those who felt ill-ly towards them were willing to open up and share what they knew, when I found a loop hole.

Sirius had mentioned a number of times in these meetings, that I would make an outstanding lawyer with my ability to constantly locate loopholes in these scenarios.

"Checkmate." I grinned, moving my knight to a space near Sirius' king. "Gah! You win again." He raised his hands in defeat as I knocked his king over and got up from my chair to do a little victory dance.

"Yes, yes." Sirius sighed, getting up from his own seat and making his way over to the fridge. He pulled out last night's pudding. "Get me a bowl too." I called over to him as I packed up the chess set, still smiling to myself. I was fairly sure Sirius regretted teaching me how to play when I'd come to live with him, as I was now a great deal better.

Sirius came back to the dining table, setting down a bowl of pudding in front of me, before taking his own seat and devouring his pudding with just a few spoonfuls. "Gross." I made a face at him, placing a small spoon of yellow pudding into my own mouth.

"It's going too be boring when you go back to school." Sirius pushed his bowl away from him and grabbed a deck of playing cards. "Go-fish?" He asked as I nodded, finishing my own bowl.

I looked up at the clock, it was well past 12. I only hoped Sirius didn't notice or he'd probably send me to bed. I grabbed my pile of cards when Sirius was finished sorting them, and we began playing before Kreacher crawled out of his little den in the kitchen.

I caught a glimpse of his framed photo of Bellatrix, making me scowl. "I asked him to get rid of it." Sirius shook his head at the elf, noticing my reaction to the image of my mother. "Master Mirabelle. Do you require any more books from the library?" Kreacher made his way over to us as we continued our game of Go-Fish.
