Chapter 21: The Hogwarts Express: (Summer/ 6th Year)

"Letters!" We heard Fred and George bellow from downstairs as Hermione, Ginny and I sat up in bed, rubbing our tired eyes.

"Maybe Luna's finished turning my moonstone into a necklace." I yawned as we trudged down the stairs unhappily.

"One for you." Fred bowed, holding a silver platter with two letters on it, which I took with a thank you, laughing slightly at their presentation.

"And for you." George held out another silver platter out to Hermione as she picked hers up. "Do I get mine on a fancy platter?" Ginny smiled as her two brothers laughed. "Yours are on the kitchen bench, Gin." Fred ruffled her hair before disapparating into the living room, where we heard Molly cry out in anger.

"One from school, it's just the booklist... And one from Luna!" I squealed, noticing the slight bulge coming from the thin envelope.

I ripped Luna's letter open and pulled out a small, pretty little necklace, I slipped it around my neck immediately.

"Oh my God I'm in love with it!" I pulled the pendant  to my face to inspect it as Hermione and Ginny rushed over to take a look.

"It screams Luna, doesn't it." Ginny smiled, tiredly as I skimmed over Luna's letter before writing my response.

Luna,

Oh my God, I love the necklace so so so much!! You're the best Luna! it's so pretty I'm never taking it off, oh and Ginny and Hermione love it too! It reminds me so much of you, oh my god thank you so much :((

I think we're going to Diagon Ally sometime this weekend, Arthur says probably the day the train leaves, I hope too see you then, ALSO THE RING NECKLACE SITS PERFECTLY ITS SUCH A GOOD LENGTH

What other subjects are you taking, I realise I forgot to ask. I'm taking care of magical creatures (But you already know that) Arithmancy, because I wanted to try something knew, Potions, Defence and against the Dark Arts, Transfiguration and Charms (Because I think I want to be an Auror) And Astronomy because I liked that last year :)

Ron says I'm reaching Hermione level crazy because of the number of subjects i'm taking, but I'm pretty sure she's taking ALL the subjects or something soo

Anyway, write back soon! I love the necklace, and I miss you!

Oh and obviously I'm taking Herbology it's my best subject haha.

I tied the letter to Errol, stroking his head as I did so, before sending him off to find Luna.

"Nice necklace." Harry pointed out as he noticed me staring at it all through breakfast. "Now, I want no dilly-dallying when we go to Diagon Ally on Saturday, so remember to pack tomorrow." Molly lectured.

"You'll be able to see our jokeshop!" Said George when Molly finished. "Speaking of, why aren't you there now.. You've been here an awful lot." Ron furrowed his eyebrows.

"We've returned to gather some things we've left behind." George snickered. "You've been here a few days." Said Ron.

"Now don't you worry your pretty little head." Fred ruffled his hair, ignoring his questions as we finished our breakfast.

Hermione woke Ginny and I early the Saturday morning to begin our packing, even though we'd be heading for Diagon Ally much later that day.

"it's never too early, you heard Molly the other morning." She scolded us. "She never said to get up at 6:30am to pack." I whined as I shoved my clothes into my bag messily, zipping the suitcase shut.
