A week had passed since Gryffindors first practise, and I found that more and more of Ginnys time was being taken up by Quidditch. Meanwhile, those of us in 5th year, had our approaching O.W.L's to worry about.

Hannah, Luna, Neville and I spent most of our time in the library on our breaks, and after dinner. Studying anything from Goblin Rebellions to the properties of Belladonna.

I had just finished writing my potions essay, when a scrunched up piece of paper hit me in the side of the head. I looked up in the direction of where it came from, first noticing Draco as his nose was stuck in The standard book of Spells, 5th Year.

I wouldn't had been surprised if it was him, after all we had participated in a bit of note passing during charms a few months prior, however a tall Slytherin boy who was grinning at me from a few seats over, told me the note didn't come from Draco, it must've come from him.

I opened the note up and read in my head; Studying for your O.W.L's? - Adrian. I picked up my quill and wrote out my response; Yes unfortunately. Why? I tossed the note back over to him as he opened it, scribbling down something before throwing it back over.

"Who the hell are you passing notes to, Pucey." Draco huffed in annoyance, looking up from his textbook and scanning the room for the receiver of his note. I stuck my tongue out at him, opening the note and reading his response.

Study with me? I hate to brag, but I got 9 O.W.L's in my 5th year ;) - Adrian.

I smiled as I read the second part, looking up and nodding before writing out What time on the note, and throwing it back.

"Just fucking talk to each other." Draco scoffed, snatching the note from mid-air before Adrian could get it. "Ooh, a study date?" He raised his eyebrows at the both of us, throwing the note back at Adrian aggressively as Adrian told Draco to mind his own business.

9:30pm, Slytherin common room. I'll wait for you outside. -Adrian

I read the sentence twice, hoping I didn't miss anything. The Slytherin common room.. I thought of myself sitting in a cold, dark room, dimly lit by green candles as wild snakes slithered around at my ankles, hissing angrily at me whenever I'd move.

I looked back up at Adrian, but he was already gone. Guess I'd better go then. Surely they don't have live snakes anyway..

----

After dinner that night, I made my way to a crowd of Slytherins, who were heading back to their dorm, walking behind a pair of painfully slow 6th years who were talking about Umbridge's new eccentric rules.

I reached the dungeons after what felt like forever behind the slow paced 6th years, waiting patiently as a girl at the front muttered the password, revealing a stone passageway that everyone made their way through.

No one seemed to notice me there, or maybe they just didn't care that I was. After all, half of them believed that I belonged in Slytherin.

"Mirabelle!" I boy called from the right of me as I edged closer to the passage way.

"Pureblood?" I scoffed, recalling the password to the Slytherin common room. "I didn't choose it." He shrugged, grabbing my wrist and tugging me to the front of the crowd, into the large common room.

The Slytherin common room wasn't all that different from the Hufflepuff one. It was around the same shape, with the same positioning of the furniture. However instead of the variety of plants, there were strange objects and dark, gloomy furniture. The Hufflepuff common room was usually brightly lit, even at night. However this common room was engulfed in a slight eerie darkness.
