Elimination Round

Hindi ako masyado nakatulog kagabi due to excitement. I was tempted to sleep in my bed for a few more hours kaso yung alarm ko kanina pa nagriring. Because of that nag-asikaso na ako ng mga dapat kong gawin. It's Saturday and ang mga kailangan lang pumasok sa school ay ang mga nagpasign-up sa program. We are free to wear anything we want kaya kumuha ako ng tank top and a pair of jeans. My usual black sneakers and my jacket. I just ate some toasts and drank ice Americano. I jogged hanggang sa makarating ako sa school. Well, common early bird. The elimination round consists of two sets, first is acads while the other one is practical. The practical test is the one I'm looking forward to since sparring contest ito. Although sparring contest ito, individual participant might face off group participants.

Some gangs are sparring before the test. Some are eating breakfast at the cafeteria while others are just chit-chatting. Sa gymnasium magaganap ang practical test. While sa main building naman ang acads. Dumiretso ako sa testing area or room assigned para sa akin. We were categorized based sa IQ namin and ten persons per room lang, so basically kasama ko si Keith, Khael at X sa room namin.

Basic lang naman ang test and if ever you're wondering kung alam ko ang answer key, sorry to burst your bubble but no. I made myself clear kay tita V na sa practical tests lang ako mangingialam.

The written exam consists of major subjects and other shits. Most of the questions are weird since meron itong typographical errors but maybe dahil minadali ang test kaya ganoon. Wala pang twenty minutes ay tapos na ako sa test. I didn't bother to recheck my answers but I checked the pages if ever na may nakaligtaan akong sagutan. I don't really care if my answer is wrong so long as idiocy is not evident in my paper for having blank answer sheets.

One thing caught my attention in the answer sheet since meron syang light lines. Yung format nya is for essay writings. Then I searched for its question or theme for essay sa mismong test booklet. Then the idea of a hidden message or code crossed my mind. The typographical errors now made sense to me. I listed all of it and try to comprehend it.

"W-h-a-t-i-s-p-o-w-e-r?" Power. Tsk. Basic. Sa sobrang basic two letters lang ang sinagot ko. I passed it to the ballot box infront and head outside of the room.

Dumiretso ako ng cafeteria to grab some apple since hindi ako nakakain kanina sa bahay nito. I picked the ripest apple na nakita ko and paid for it. A strawberry milkshake came into my view at alam ko kaagad kung kaninong kamay ito.

"What do you want Froi?" Tanong ko sa kanya sa usual bored tone ko.

"Sir Blue might be late today." Well, hindi naman na ako nabigla sa sinabi nya but to think na hindi nya na lang ako tinext or sinabihan kanina, it must be some kind of emergency.

Agad kaming dumiretso sa gymnasium. Halata sa mga grupo na nandirito ang pagpapataasan at pangmamaliit sa ibang mga grupo. I also saw my classmates' group tulad ng grupo ni Cara. Matalim ang tingin sa akin ni Cara while her teammates are looking seductively sa kasama ko.

"Froi..." Bulong ko. Dahil sa iba't ibang ingay sa buong gymnasium, I'm still surprised dahil narinig nya ako at agad naman syang lumapit sa akin. "I'll be putting some restrictions sa match mo. You're not allowed to use kicks unless I say so. "
