(We have skipped to the day the Baudelaire fire has happened, so its been about three months, I'll give a brief summary.)
Brief Summary of The Last Three Months
Dona spent almost every night in Isadora's room and hung out with the triplets all day everyday. She was still crushed about her mothers disappearance, and no one had seemed to care at all, no one had come to take her to a new guardian, no family members that she may have had dropped by to see if she was okay or needed a home, nothing, it was almost like she never existed at all.
Quigley and Dona had also become very, very close. Neither had the guts to admit that they liked one another, but they both still had their moments. Moments where it seemed like nothing in world existed but the two of them, neither was scared to look at the other, only warmth filled their body because of the pure joy that came from spending time with one another. The two of them spent one night a week with just the two of them. When the two hung out the usually didn't do much other then talk about the things they liked, or what they wanted in life, but on occasion, there would be an electricity between the two, nothing crazy, but small things that made them both happy to be alive. Dona would rest her head on Quigley's shoulder when she was tired, or they would loosely grab the others hand when they were both too sleepy to comprehend what they were doing. Much to the silent dismay of both, they never slept in the same room as the other unless Duncan and Isadora were there, they were almost scared to push themselves overboard and ruin the wonderful relationship the two had formed and bonded over tragedy, loss, and a deep desire to escape from life and live in the novels that graced the shelves of so many libraries.
Now that were done with the sappy stuff, the Quagmire parents have been captured, but the children have been led to believe they are on a work trip, so no one is worried or anything. But here is the beginning of the most difficult story I will probably every force myself to write:
Another day had passed and it was another one that brought joy to each of the children living in the Quagmire residence.
"When do you think mother and father will come home?" Duncan asked to no one in particular, allowing the question to remain up in the air waiting for someone to grab it and answer
"I'm not sure, I doubt it will be very long, their work trips usually don't last long." Quigley said from across the room.
The children were in the library on the sofas, Duncan and Isadora on one, Quigley and Dona on the other. Quigley and Dona were sitting right next to one another with Dona's chin on Quigley's shoulder as they both read the newspaper he was looking at. The headline read, "Baudelaire Home Destroyed" Dona knew the Baudelaire parents and frequently heard of their children. She felt awful for them but couldn't say much due to not wanting to have to tell them about VFD and what their parents jobs really were.
Isadora and Duncan were whispering to each other and stealing small glances at the two on the opposing couch from them. Dona noticed first as whispered into Quigley's ear, making his spine tingle at the feeling of her breath on his face, "Whaddya think their talking about?"
"I dunno, probably something about getting us together." Quigley said plainly, not wanting to come off as wanting them to do so. Dona snickered quietly and went back to reading, choosing not to notice the slight twinge in her heart from how simply Quigley said that, she wanted him to have more emotion towards it, but she would never admit that.
