Dona's legs ached as she peddled down the asphalt streets of the city. She swerved past pedestrians as she headed for Mulctuary Money Management.

She caught sight of the building down the street and peddled with what energy of hers remained to the large glass doors.

Dona swung her leg off the bike and leaned it against the side of the building. She checked the time by glancing in the building at the small analog clock adorned on the walls. 2:56. Dona sighed and leaned against the wall picking at her clothes, waiting for Jacquelyn.

As the minutes ticked by Dona grew increasingly impatient. Where was she? Everyone in VFD was usually very timely. By the time the little clock read 3:30, Dona was panicked. She jumped on her bike and gripped the handles and started to peddle down the street, deciding to find her nearest way into the VFD tunnels, assuming Jacquelyn would be there. She peddled down the streets and found an entrance(I can't think of a good thing to say for what it would be, so use your imagination, doesn't really matter). She hid her bike in an alleyway and slid down the ladder into the tunnels. She sped down the dirty corridors, turning every now and then, entirely ignoring the signs placed by the ladders she passed. Dona's breaths where short and panicked while her chest grew tighter, the nervous feeling building up inside of her.

Dona had given up. She had no idea what time it was and she had been running for hours, not knowing Jacquelyn would never show up, seeing as she was tied to a tree in the park. She sat down on a rung of one of the many ladders and held her head in her hands. She had to find her way back to the Quagmires.

She paced the tunnels in search of the sign entitled 'Quagmire', with little prevail might I add. The only recognizable sign she saw was one the read 'Baudelaire'. She sighed and gripped the rungs, climbing toward whatever was above.

Dona pushed open the door above her and coughed as a wave of ash hit her. She looked around at the wreckage surrounding her. Everything was destroyed. She didn't notice that the sky was dark and the lights in the surrounding houses had been turned off. She wandered about the house and examined what was left with the little light that shown through the wreckage. She absentmindedly pulled out her spyglass to use as a flashlight before it dawned on her how dark it was. "Shit!" She exclaimed, realizing she said she'd be back before six, and it was probably after seven at this point. She turned off the spyglass and ran into the street, knowing the Quagmire house had to be close by. She ran down the streets until she recognized the sign on the street corner, she found them. She raced down the drive and threw the door open of the house that still twinkled with yellow lights. She slammed the door closed and ran to the entrance of the library to be faced with three, very scared, looking children. "Oh my god, you guys I'm so, so, so, sorry!! I got lost and I didn't realize the time an-" Dona's rambling was cut short by arms wrapping around her, followed by two more sets. Dona slowly wrapped her arms around the three of them and laid her head against Quigley's shoulder. "Don't do that again, please." Isadora pleaded. Dona dryly laughed and whispered, "I won't, I promise."

Yet another chapter of essentially setting up the storyline. You really just gotta stick with me until it really gets going. Sorry if there's typing errors, I'm in a car and the road is a freakin mess so it's ridiculously hard to type. Also, thank you so so so much for 80 reads, that pretty crazy to me and really exciting!! Hope you enjoyed (:
