The little car screeched to a stop outside the Quagmire manor. Dona and Isadora grabbed their bags and made for the door, followed closely by Mrs. Quagmire.
The warmed house made a short sigh leave Dona's lips, her arms were covered in bumps from the chilled wind outside. A tug on Dona's arm and turned into a pull barley allowed her to get her shoes off as Isadora pulled her upstairs, demanding that they had to show each other their new clothes.
Dona couldn't help but laugh at her, it was odd having someone like her, like a friend, or maybe even a sister. Dona hadn't had many friends growing up, with being in VFD and all it didn't leave much time, and her mother was her own personal best friend. Guess that's out the window.
"Okay, you put on your favorites, and I'll put on mine, got it?" Isadora asked, grinning widely at the brunette, who lay sprawled out on Isadora's plush bed.
"Yep!" Dona sleepily exclaimed, dragging herself from the bed and selecting an random bag, she couldn't be bothered. Not that she didn't want too hang out with Issy, it was just the weighted thought at the back of her mind about what could possibly be happening to her mother that had been nagging at her all day, or if she was still alive.
The door to Isadora's closet latched behind Dona as she pulled out whatever was in the bag. Black cigarette pants and an off-white turtleneck, eh good enough.
A moment later a light knock was heard at the closet door and Dona tensed,"Uh.. Yeah?" She called
"We gotta go down for dinner now Dee, are you ready?" Isadora called back through the thick wood of the door
"Yep!" Dona exclaimed, stuffing her former outfit into the bag of her new one and combing her fingers through her hair one last time before exiting the room to see Isadora beaming at her in a crisp a-line skirt and floral blouse.
"Oh how fancy!" Dona smiled slyly at the girl, who blushed slightly and giggled.
"You're one to talk miss sophisticated!" Isadora cheekily grinned back, gripping her hands and spinning in a circle around the room.
The girls stopped their dance together when the door flung open to reveal Duncan and Quigley smirking at the giggling girls who hung off each off for support,"You guys coming down? Mother's going to get upset if you don't come down soon." Duncan asked
"Yeah, yeah, yeah, we're coming. Let's go my darling." Isadora said, placing an arm around Donas waist and putting on a false heartfelt look on her face.
"Yes, we must be off my dearest." Dona agreed in a posh tone, placing her arm around Isadora's back before breaking into another fit of giggles with the girl.
"Whatever." Duncan sighed, rolling his eyes before leaving the room, followed closely by a still laughing Isadora.
Only Quigley and Dona remained in the room, Dona to gather her bags, and Quigley who was rather entranced with the girl before him. It wasn't that he was looking at her in a way that he shouldn't, it was more a harmless attraction. The way she looked so happy, the way that when she smiled the little fanged teeth she had showed, the way her brown hair didn't seem to lay straight, no matter how many times she combed her hands through it, he thought she was incredible.
The sound of a throat clearing brought Quigley back from his thoughts,"You okay?" Dona asked, standing in front of him with three bags held between her hands.
"Uh.. y-yeah, sorry."
"It's all good, it's a dangerous thing to think, I tell ya kid." Dona laughed, wagging a finger at him then brushing past and tossing her bags into her own room before turning or walk down the staircase that had echos of laughter trailing up from the conversations being held in the dining room below.
