She hated it already, she hated that her grandparents lived five towns away fro the nearest airport. She hated that she had to take a bus to their town, she hated the weird looks people gave her, she hated to smell of the old bus. She hated that she had to pack up her life into three bags. She hated that both of her parents didn't want her.
But thats life. She knew she just had to suck it up and put on a fake smile. Thats how her life has always been, and it's what she expected it to be for the rest of her life.
The bus stoped at the fourth spot, six important looking people came on. Four women, two men they made their way to sit in the back. Naturally curious she decided to listen in on their conversation.
She couldn't make out anything unless she got closer, so she slowly moved her way closer to the group.
"He wanted us to come for that? I could be at my pack making sure rouges back off and be with my mate. But he just had to have us come over for some stupid meeting we could have done online." Said one of the women who wore black sunglasses.
Lauren scrunched up her face, who uses the word pack or rouge or mate? She wondered what it even meant. She realized that the woman had an accent so she was probably from a different country and that was some of the slang.
She moved her attention from the group to look out the window as snow started to fall, but when she turned back to the group they were all staring at her. She gave them all a weird look and started to look at her phone. She glanced up again and they were in the same position.
"Were you spying us human? Do you work for someone that would want any of us dead? Are you working or rouges?" A man with blonde har and green eyes asked her.
She panicked and spoke. "Pardon, monsieur? Je n'ai aucune ideé de ca que venez de dire, s'li vous plaît laissez moi tranquille. Merci" she spoke to quickly.
The woman who wore the sunglasses placed her hand on his shoulder and pulled him back to his seat. "Relax Jase, she docent know english so just relax."
He seemed to somewhat relax and went back to his seat. Lauren took out her headphones from her pocket and turned on some soft music and a three hour timer. She laid against the window and fell asleep.

She woke up by a soft alarm in her ears. She yawned and look at the time and saw she had five minutes until she gets to see her grandparents after eight years. She didn't know how it would happen, she wanted them to be happy she's there. But anything could happen.
The bus slowly came to a stop and people started to stand up, she grabbed her bags from the top and dragged them off the bus without any help. She stood at the stop and watched the group from earlier enter an expensive car.
"Lauren over here!" She jumped at the unexpected yell of her name and hurried towards it. An old couple sat there and the woman gave her a hug. "I have seen you for so long! You've grown so tall! And look at you! You've matured so much!" The woman said gaining a few weird looks, Lauren blushed and kept her head down.
"Merci grandma, but can we go back to your house? Im still very tired and I haven't adjusted to your time zone yet. And I also have to unpack."
Her grandma nodded. "My son told me you're a rude brat, but you're the opposite. I swear the time your grandpa dropped him as a baby is the reason."
She looked at her grandpa and smiled "why did you drop him?"
"I got scared when he screamed" he replied honestly with a shrug.
Her grandma stoped infant of a red truck and helped her put her bags in the trunk. Lauren went into the back seat and looked out the window as her grandpa drove to their house.
The only thing Lauren liked here was the outside. It was beautiful with mountains and with a huge forest. She liked the idea of a forest, the most wild animal she has ever seen was maybe a rat on the side of the road. And she was excited, the books that she read always talked about wolves, bears, foxes , and other animals.
The car stopped at a red house on the edge of the forest. Lauren and her grandparents got out.
"What do you think of your new home?" Her grandpa asked sweetly.
"Its nice, I'm excited to start a new chapter of my life here."
That was a huge lie. She already made up her mind. She was going to graduate high school and leave. That was the plan, and she promised herself she would make that come true.
Grabbing her bags her grandparents showed her to her room on the third level of the house. They entered a room with slanted ceilings, and a small wooden balcony.
"This will be your room. You can do what ever with it. Theres a fair sized bathroom in there" her grandma said pointing to the door. "And thats really all, tomorrow we can go shopping for some room decorations if you want."
Before Lauren could respond her grandma already left her. She went over to the balcony and closed the curtains. She went to the full sized bed and fell asleep.
