She woke up suddenly gasping for air. She put her hand on her beating heart, she could feel how fast it went. Her heart slowed down and she was finally able to breathe normally. Getting up she went to the bathroom and splashed cold water on her face.
It was just a dream, that's all it was. She repeated that sentence over and over. Her brown eyes were sleepy, and she saw light bags under her eyes. Checking her phone she saw it was only 4:30 in the morning.
She sighed and went downstairs to get some food, she was hungry and didn't care that it was still early morning. All she knew was that she was in a mood for a bagel. So she went downstairs for that bagel. She found the bagels next to the toaster oven and out them in. She got the cream cheese from the fridge and got a butter knife out.
As the toaster singled that the bagel was ready a note caught her eye. It was from her grandparents explaining that they will be gone for a few weeks while they're at the hospital they they work at.
Lauren didn't care and kept eating her bagel. Only thing that the note meant was that she would have to walk to school everyday, and she didn't mind. It's only a mile and a half so not far.
Lauren finished her bagel and went back to her room on the third floor. She laid in her bed staring at the ceiling. She knew she couldn't go back to sleep, so she just played with her fingers for an hour.
Finally feeling as if she was allowed to get up she got ready for school. Dressing in some high waisted jeans and a cream white cropped sweater. She took out her braids and fixed her now wavy hair. She looked at her make up stuck her middle finger at it and applied some.
When she looked at her, she already has her bag ready. Having nothing to do Lauren got out a book and started to read.
The next time she checked her phone it was 7:33 and time to go. School started at 8:10 and it would take her around 30 minutes to walk she figured. Grabbing her back she went out of the front door and locked it.
A thick fog settled over and you could barely see anything. Lauren found this annoying and used the flashlight on her phone to see through the fog. She walked in silence.
A black car stopped in fient of her she looked closer as the windows went down. It was Ashley and Luke in the passenger seat.
"Want a ride?" Ashley asked unlocking the car doors.
"I'll pass." She said and kept going down the side walk. She looked behind her and Ashley was still following her.
"Are you sure? You can barely see out here" Ashley said getting close again.
"Positive."
Much to Lauren's dislike they still followed her. The head light illuminated her path so she turned off her flashlight. She watched Ashley and Luke from the car.
Soon enough they arrived in front of the school. Ashley went to park her car and Lauren walked towards the front to get her schedule, she wasn't shocked when she opened the doors.
Everyone looked at her, she thought it was because most of them have never seen someone from out of town. It was true though. But they're faces made her want to start laughing. But instead she rolled her eyes and headed towards the front office. She got her schedule and locker combo.
She went to her locker and opened it easily. Her books were already inside and she was extremely grateful for that. She went to her first period class, world history. Useless class to her.
She already knew the history of the world. Cavemen, Mesopotamia, every other important ancient city, Greece, Rome, some English stuff, French Revolution, American independence stuff, World War I, World War II, and then the Cold War. She already knew it.

Turns out everything she was taught if France was wrong. Only thing that made sense was math, probably because it was just numbers. And it's her favorite class because she finds it the easiest.
Looking at her last two classes for the day she sighed in relief, first PE then English tutoring. PE was an easy class she knew that for sure, all she has to do is play a sport when the teacher is looking.
English tutoring she knew she needed. Her English was never good and still isn't. She can barely read or write it. She can speak it but only a few words she can say correctly. She ended up having to ask the other students who knew French to help her.
Walking into the gym she saw a few people already there. She didn't need to change clothes because the coach told here that they will just play dodgeball.
She saw Ashley talking with some ginger. The ginger and Ashley's were nothing extremely flustered and Lauren thought it was cute.
Getting bored Lauren looked at the clock on the wall. She had 45 minutes to be with a bunch of people she didn't even know the name of.
The doors opened and the atmosphere thickened, Lauren noticed and saw a tall guy walk in. If looks could kill everyone would be dead. His brown hair was messy and he seemed extremely pissed off. He stormed off in the direction of a kid she had biology with, Nick.
Within a few seconds they were fighting. Punching and kicking, while most backed off. Lauren found it interesting and started to record it. She frowned because she didn't have a good angle for the fight and got closer. After getting a few more recording and photos she backed off happy with her work.
She watched the recordings and over her shoulder Ashley watched. "Nice you got it on video."
"Oui, it's drôle." Lauren said giggling a little while watching the two pull out each other's hair.
"It's what?" Ashley asked.
"She finds it funny." Said a soft voice. Lauren looked back and it was the hunger from earlier.
All the fun was ruined when the PE teacher walked in and separated the two boys and told them to go to detention. The rest of the class played dodgeball. And Lauren used the ginger who's name ended up being Kate to speak to other people.
After PE Lauren went to the library and waited for her tutor. She was on her phone when Ashley sat in front of her with a dictionary.
"Alright technically my brother is supposed to be doing this because he's nice I guess. But he's not here! So you get to stick with me until he gets back. I didn't know how to tutor so we're,going A-Z in the standard English dictionary!" Lauren groaned. "I can tell your very excited so let's get learning!"
Lauren took the dictionary and put it back in the shelf. She went back in her phone and Ashley shrugged and did the same. The two shared Instagram usernames and needed up sending memes to each other the whole session.
