Opening the curtains Lauren got to work on her new room. She figured if she's staying for the next 6 months, she might as well have a nice room. What she need where some nice curtains, a sewing machine, lots of fabric, and mannequins. She earlier found an old desk earlier and got it up to her room, her idea was to to paint it a pearly white color.

She went down stairs to the garage to see if she could find any more use full items. She wanted to repurpose some old furniture into something new. Entering the garage she found some buckets of paint none of them the color she wanted, tools, old screws, and a unique lamp. She left the garage, nothing sparked her interest.

"Hello Lauren darling!" Her grandma said from the kitchen island making banana bread. "How was your sleep? And why did you go into the garage?"

"Bonjour, my sleep was fine and I was looking for maybe some stuff I could repurpose." She said before getting a glass of water.

"Oh well you should visit some of the shops in town! Im sure you will find loads of things for a good price!"

"Maybe I will, merci."
(Thank you)
"Oh and don't forget your phone! Its been on the counter all night and im shocked you haven't been on it. Your father said you were always on your phone back home. I'm guessing you were quite popular."

She paused and grabbed her phone. "Yeah I guess I was." But she wanted to add so but decided not to.

Her grandma was about to respond but she left to get her wallet from her room. She got it off her bedside table and went back to find no one home. Just a note asking her to get eggs while she was out.

She went to the garage and started her grandpa's truck. She turned on the radio and hummed to the unfamiliar songs. She stopped at the almost empty paint store and walked in, only her, the cashier, and a twelve year old.

She scanned the shelfs for some pearl white paint. After a few minutes she found it and went to the cashier.

"That will be $12.58" he said in a bored tone.

She handed him her card and waited for him to swipe it. He just kept staring at his computer screen. "Can you scan the card already, monsieur? I don't have all day" she said in an annoyed voice.
(Sir)
He was about to fire something back but the moment he looked up his eyes widened. One she was human and he had never met a human before. And two, he thought he's ever seen someone so beautiful. quickly recovering his dazed state he gave a flirty smile "well I could, but the card number declined. Could I get yours instead?"

She frowned "thats the best you got? That was pathetic, just swipe the fichu card."
(Damn)

He shrugged and swiped her card and gave her his phone number. She looked at it and put it in the trash on the way back. A new reason why she hated it here was that people apparently could take a hit. She used google maps to find the closet grocery store.

She parked the truck and got a text notification, she quickly read it and ignored it. She was not in the mood to deal with people. She got out of the car and went into the store. She found out that half the population was in there, small families, friends, normal people. She liked it more because she liked crowds. She liked the idea of having large groups of people together.

She headed to the dairy section to find a dozen eggs. She found it easily and was checking the eggs for cracks when she heard laughter. Naturally curious she looked up and saw two people her age. One boy with beach blonde hair and blue eyes and a girl with black hair and brown eyes. The girl was in the shopping cart as the boy pushed her around in it.

Lauren thought they were cute together and kept looking at the eggs, she found the perfect eggs and smiled. When she looked up she saw the girl with black hair in her face. Lauren blinked and took a step back, "can I help you?" She asked in a confused voice.

"Are you the new girl everyone has been talking about? I've heard so much about you! Well as much as there is to know, your French and your not a fan of Jackson the guy who works at the paint store. But neither am I and-"

The boy put his hand over her mouth. "I'm sorry what Ashley is trying to say is that she's really happy to meet you. I'm Luke."

        "Lauren."

"Well Lauren I'm sorry about Ashley. I hope I see you when school starts again in three days." Luke said before walking off with Ashley to their cart and kept pushing around each other.

Lauren walked back to her grandpas truck and placed the eggs in the passengers seat. She's only met three people so far in the town, and she kept hating it more and more.
