As his back came into view, my feet halted - usually I would've taken the opportunity to throw myself onto his back but I'd lost that ability without death when he lost his privileges to anything about me. So instead I just tapped his shoulder once before he turned around

For some reason, he looked surprised to see me despite the fact he'd asked me to come, but I supposed it was strange to see one another again after what happened - it wasn't like I planned to come back here again, or have anything to do with the league for that matter! "You came..."

I shoved my hands in my pockets maintaining eye contact "who can refuse a begging pile of charred flesh?" A smile spread across my lips as the insult made its way into the air "I could practically smell the smoke through the phone" it felt good to treat him the way he'd treated me, even if I was going easy

"Watch it, snake eyes - you'll be out of here in no time, choke on iced coffee for all I care" I whistled before hissing pretending to be hurt by his words clutching my chest, I should've been terrified but part of my mind knew he wouldn't hurt me, intentionally anyway - otherwise I'd be roast ages ago but I wasn't...because of him

We wandered to a roof top "so are you going to explain who we're looking for or am I just shooting whatever moves?" That included him and he knew it! If Dabi wanted to survive the night, he was going to have to be very clear with what he wanted me to do before I found a loophole that meant I could take him down too! After all; he was 'alive'

"You know all you need to know - just shut up and do your job" it seemed my presence was starting to get to him, we both knew he should've chosen someone else, someone with a better adjusted quirk for this sort of situation. Mine was good for intimidating and suffocation but not much else - just for tonight I had to be weapon

I glanced down at the side of jeans to check I had some sort of blade to prepare myself for battle if needed but I didn't feel like bleeding out or contaminating my blood in the mean time. Something about this just didn't feel right but I couldn't tell what - the 'guy' was taking forever however Dabi didn't seem worried?

The truth hit me all too late to change fate, this wasn't a mission to capture or kill some random 'guy'...this was about me. His mission was to burn bridges, and I was one of the things that needed to be burned - Dabi's job was to kill me, it was that simple...and I'd fallen for it! No, I didn't fall, I leapt all too eager to see him

"Dabi?" I glanced back over the ledge as he moved forward, I'd done it again, fallen in love with someone who was only ever going to hurt me. Maybe I just needed a fresh start? Somewhere outside of Japan? I could speak English and French pretty well so maybe somewhere in Europe? Paris would do the trick pretty well but so would Ireland? I'd never been to
there either

"Time to say goodbye, little Viper" I panicked throwing a hand up to try and block his flames as I cried out in fear. I was wrong, he would hurt me despite everything we'd been through - I was nothing to him, so if I survived this...he'd be nothing to me, I'd treat him the way he'd treated me as a sign of 'mercy'

I remember falling for what seemed like forever. Over the ledge, I could see Dabi but he wasn't smiling or anything like that - he just stared as I let my eyes fall closed. My body felt weightless, the same way it had when I jumped from the window but this time...Dabi was the danger, just like he wanted to be...

So why'd I still do it all again?
