"Hello?"
The voice that Lily heard sounded angelic, and she could understand why so many girls were in love with this voice. But the angel's voice was cracking, breaking. Or maybe it was already broken?
Voices can give away emotion, feelings. People say that sometimes when you look into someone's eyes you can see into their soul, eyes give away all a person's feelings, but maybe it's not just a person's eyes that can do this. Maybe a person's voice can be a window into their soul as well, a view into their emotions. Every voice is unique, if you have known someone for long enough you know exactly what they sound like, you can tell who they are by their voice and the way they speak.
Lily realised she had paused for too long before answering to the deep, sad voice, and she quickly spoke. "Hi. Um... my name's Lily."
The voice groaned. "Go talk to one of the other boys about how upset you are we all broke up. I've had enough of this complaining."
His voice had suddenly turned spiteful, and it stung right into Lily's heart. Then she realised how much he had gone through, and how much pain that must have hit him.
"Luke, it's not that." She muttered.
She heard his breath suddenly hitch, and there was a long pause while she waited for him to reply.
But he didn't say anything.
"Luke, I'm so, so sorry." A lump had grown in her throat and was restricting her breathing, she was afraid it would dissolve into tears. "I'm so sorry about Hannah, and what Michael did to you. I'm so sorry about the fans, and I'm sorry for how much it hurt you to break up the band like that. I'm so sorry that you're all alone, handling this by yourself without the help of your best friends or anyone. And most of all Luke, I'm so, so, so sorry about your Mum. But you don't have to be alone anymore. I know I'm just some stranger, but I could become your friend. You can always talk to me."
She heard a small sob, and that caused her to suddenly burst into tears as well. Lily had always been an emotional mess, even when it had nothing to do with her.
"You found it already..." she heard a soft whisper from the other end of the phone line, and then there was a long beep.
The angel had hung up.
// a/n that was less difficult to write than I was expecting, a nice surprise.
yes, the phone calls are going to be just as short as any of the diary entries and letters were, oh well.
(But then I, asked for your number, said you don't have a phone.
I'm listening to Don't Stop acoustic haha)
Would you guys like a Luke pov for the next chapter?
Damn. This story is just getting started :) //
