PRESENT DAY
JIEUN P.O.V

I was speechless. I didn't know how to respond to what he said.

"Was it the best decision? Was it the only way we had to break up? If he had told me the truth in the first place... wouldn't I have understood him? Would I have thrown a tantrum if I had known the truth back then?"

Many questions came into my mind but I had no answers for any of them. Next to me, Daniel was weeping out his misery. He tried to wipe away his tears and stop crying but always a new one would replace the one he wipes out.

"I'm sorry Jieun, for everything. I know, I don't deserve your forgiveness. And I don't ask you to forgive me. I- I just wanted to apologize."

Looking at me with swollen red eyes, he said. Reminiscing every word he uttered some minutes back, I ran my tongue over my lips trying to wrap my head around the truth.

I, for some reason feels nothing at all. It kind of hurts to know that he slept with someone else while we were still in a relationship. But other than that I feel nothing. Not even a single tear rolled down my cheeks.

"Jieun say something. Shout at me, scold me, hit me but please, don't stay silent. Vent your frustration...anger over me. I don't want you to be silent."

Taking my hands into his, Daniel said.

"I... I- I don't know. We broke up not in the nicest way and... I mean, it's all in the past now. It's done. We can't change it. But we can change our future."

Confused, he slowly let my hands go.

"What do you mean?"

"What I mean is, let's not bring up that past again. Let's forget everything and start afresh. We broke any sort of friendship we had then so...why not be friends again? Good friends?"

"Is it your way of forgiving me?"

Pointing a finger towards himself, he asked. I replied him with a shrug.

"You can say that."

"So we are cool?"

"Better than ever."

Smiling I opened my arms out for a hug. After hours of crying finally I saw a genuine smile on his face. Daniel pulled me towards him and held onto me as if his life depended on this hug. Smiling, I gave a couple of pats on his back.

We stayed like that for a couple of minutes before I backed away and broke the hug.

"Now don't cry like a baby, okay? You look so ugly like that."

Wiping his tears off with my thumbs I said and earned a chuckle from him. Seeing his smiling face brought a smile to my lips as well.

"Dani, if you don't mind...can I ask you something?"

"Sure."

"Mmm... So umm... Is Choi Nara your wife now?"

Running a hand through his hair he looked away. It took a few seconds for him to nod his head in affirmation.

"So...you are a father as well?"

Facing me Daniel gave a blank face.

"What?! I just wanted to know~ I- I don't mind at all. It's good to have a family."
