It was a well-known fact that Angelica Schuyler would do anything to make her two younger sisters happy. She would walk through the bows of hell if it meant that Peggy and Eliza were happy, and that's exactly what she had done.

Well, not really, but it felt as though she had crossed through the fiery flames of her own personal hell when she had introduced Eliza to Alexander.

She had watched them greet each other with a smile on her face, one that was so believable she was sure that if she had looked into a mirror she would've convinced herself as well that it wasn't killing her to watch them hit off instantly.

She had left when it had become clear that introducing them was a good idea. I'll leave you to it, she had said before heading off to the balcony for some fresh air.

So here she stood on the balcony staring up at the sky as the cold air stung her face and made her hair fly all about.

The night sky had always calmed her, the twinkling of the stars reminded her of various fairy tales her mother had read to her and her sisters to lull them to sleep.

But tonight it wasn't working because those beautifully bright stars only reminded her that in fairy tales she wouldn't have had to introduce Eliza to Alexander, in fairy tales everybody got their happy ending, and in fairy tales she would be with Alexander.

She supposed that was what big sisters did. They willingly sacrificed anything and everything for their younger siblings and that was what she had done.

Angelica turned her head back and saw Eliza and Hamilton twirling around the ballroom. The tiniest of smiles appeared on her lips at this, Eliza never danced; she always stood in the corner of the ballroom just spectating.

Watching them confirmed what Angelica already knew; Eliza and Alexander were good for each other. So to hell with her own satisfaction. As long as Eliza and Peggy were happy, she was happy.

That was what she wanted to believe, but part of her still selfishly wished to take Alexander far away from this place and never look back. But she could not and would not do it.

For one, even if Eliza wasn't so smitten with the man, Angelica was still the oldest of the Schuyler sisters and her father had no sons. So it was her responsibility to marry into a wealthy family.

Alexander was penniless, he would bring nothing but himself to the Schuyler name. While that was nice and all, it simply wasn't enough for a woman of her status.

Alexander had nothing to offer as of now, the only thing he could rely on being looks and smarts and that could only get you so far. Angelica had no doubt in her mind Alexander would make it work but still, she was the oldest, and the wittiest and she had to be responsible.

Another reason she could never be with him was yet again due to money. This time, not his nonexistent coin though. It was because of her own money.

She was a Schuyler and men fell at her feet hoping to court her just to get a taste of wealth. Angelica would have to be naive to push that aside and she simply was not.

She was a logical and level-headed person and she couldn't not take into account the fact that Alexander had only approached her because of her fortune.

Even if it wasn't the only reason, it sure was the biggest. Maybe that was why she introduced him to Eliza.

That was not to say her sister was stupid or naive, it was just Eliza was more of a hopeless romantic than Angelica. Things like this didn't cross her mind the same way they did for Angelica.
