We finally stepped into Hogwarts and I clung to my robe feeling anxious about having to sit with the Slytherins.
The tiny first years pass with a bewildered look as we step into the great hall. The great hall surprises me every time, filling me with joy. Almost to make me forget about Pansy, Draco, Goyle, Crabbe; I feel at home.
All of the professors are sat at the end with Dumbledore at the front. The ceiling looks like stars and green, red, blue, and yellow house decorations hang over each table. I breath it in, trying to release all things overwhelming me and look around at all of the surrounding kids like me, moving around, and talking with their best friends they haven't seen in what feels like eternity.
"Y/n, we'll see you later ok?" Hermonie said breaking me out of my daydream. I nodded and head to the Slytherin table, playing with a silver ring on my finger.
I sit down and hold on to the wood. My nerves finally calm until a cold hand brushes against my back.
"Do you need something?" I ask in annoyance. I look up to Draco Malfoy, smirking as he sits down right next to me.
There's no one on my other side considering people usually don't sit next to me, as if my muggle blood is contagious.
"You don't own the table, L/n. I can sit where I want.'" He laughs, but looks in my eyes again, almost knowing how I had been picturing them since we left each other on the train.
"You own the table?" I joke, but my voice quivers, nervously.
I can't deal with this right now.
"I'd have you know my father contributed-" He starts proudly.
Of course he owns part of the table.
His robes are freshly ironed. Mine have small wrinkles on the bottom, he clearly notices.
I firmly press down on mine trying to ignore him.
It doesn't work.
"Please don't finish that sentence for the sake of mood for the night. I really don't need to hear anything else about daddy's money." I plead sarcastically, scooting away from him. As if we were back in 3rd year.
His blond hair almost looks wavy in this lighting, and messy. Thats new for this year. It's never been this unkept.
He smiles knowing the sight of him angers me.
I slam my handkerchief onto the table but only end up wincing from the pain that stings through my hand.
The feast abruptly appears in front of us.
"Maybe if move and you get your head out of your ass you could realize you're being a egotistical perv." I smile back.
This smile catches the eye of Pansy Parkinson. She folds her arm and whispers Draco's name trying to tug him away. Theo Nott and Blaise Zabini each take a turn to throw a rolled up paper ball at her.
He furrows his brows and rolls his tongue along the inside of his cheek.
With one last catch of my eye, he smirks, and returns to the chaos of the rest of the table.
~~~~~~
I lay down on my bed on my back finally feeling greatful no one wants to share a room with me. It would be terrible. Constant pranks and clothes switches. That was my whole first year and second year, and not to mention but they have only gotten more creative through out the years.
