Part 18 - Let us be honest about Loki

Loki groaned in pain.

'What had happened ?'

"Asgardian."

Loki's eyes snapped open. No...nononoNO !!! He jumped up and looked at the Other in fear.

"Thanos is getting impatient. I would recommand you to hurry and give the Tesseract over to us. Like you promised."

"I didn't promise you anything !! That was you, who put me under mindcontrol and forced me to make such a promise !! I didn't do anything !!!", Loki yelled.

"What a big mouth you have. He will be so happy to erase your existance. Mark my words he will---!!!"

Suddenly the connection broke and Loki was dreaming a peaceful dream.

Loki gasped as he woke up. He laid on the couch and everyone looked at him.

"Are you, you Loki ? Or are you the other Loki, who is the Lunatic and murders everyone ?", Clint asked.

Nat rammed her elbow into Clint's side.

"Oww !", he yelped.

"Are you alright, Loki ?", she asked.

"I...I guess...What happened ?", Loki asked.

"Well...the Other tried to read your mind and the masked one knocked you totally out, so the connection will be broken for good.", Tony answered.

"So that is why the connection broke...", Loki mumbled.

"So he talked to you.", Destiny pointed out.

"He did. He warned me and said that I have to give them the Tesseract as soon as possible. Thanos is getting impatient and I had promised the Tesseract to them, which, by the way, isn't true. They mindcontrolled me and forced me to promise them that. So it doesn't count.", Loki explained.

"For them it does.", Destiny said matter of factly.

Loki looked at her.

"Looks like it...", he mumbled.

Thor looked at Loki and then at the floor.

"I am sorry, Loki...", he said in sadness.

Everyone looked at him and Loki stared at Thor in confusion.

"For what do you apologize ?", he asked confused.

"I did this to you. I made you fall, I made you sad, I made you grow angered, I took father's love from you, I laughed at you, I teased you, I made you die...I made you try and kill yourself..."

Loki's eyes widened from shock. He didn't expect that. Thor was crying, for fucks sake ! Loki never had to deal with that ! At least not over 1289 years ago. He comforted him lastly as Thor hurt himself as he was 129 and Loki just 118. This was so long ago.

Out of instinct he jumped up and went over to Thor.

"Hey...Hey Thor, it wasn't entirely your fault. You hear ? It was also Odin's and my own. Odin never told me of my true heritage and I was totally hurt and confused of why he won't just accept me for me. And after I found out about my true heritage...I didn't accept myself. And...to be honest I still don't. I am disgusted by myself, but that Odin never cared to explain, why he dispised me....hurt even more, than finding out about the truth, he never cared to tell me.", Loki explained.

Thor looked at him in shock.

"I am mostly at fault though...For being born that way. For being...well...me. I realized that and that was one more reason, why I wanted to kill myself. I couldn't live with the truth of myself and Odin's reasons to never care about me. I decided...no one cared, I hated myself, everyone wouldn't even realise that I am gone and dead, no one likes me and no one needs me. The truce was broken, so I wasn't of any value anymore. I was dead anyways. Why not just give myself up, right here, right now ?"

Destiny looked at Loki without emotion. Thor looked at Loki in hurt and horror.

"Loki, you are so much more than a peace offering, in my eyes. You are my brother. You are Loki, God of Mischief, Master of Lies, King of Trickery and everywhere, where you are is surely fun too. You always made us all laugh at some point. We also mostly jested with you, but sometimes...I think you took it the wrong way and were offended. You always had some pranks and jokes and we wanted to joke with you around...but sometimes it went too far. I saw that as you...as you and I fought and you fell down....You are also very clever and very powerful with your magic. It doesn't matter if you were born as a Frost Giant. You were raised as Asir. In your heart, soul and mind you are Asgardian. A little different, but you are one of us."

Loki looked at Thor in surprise and shock.

"That is the Problem Thor."

Everyone turned now to Destiny and looked at her. She still looked at them without any emotion.

"No matter, how many people would accept Loki as Asgardian, Odin wouldn't."

"Now listen here-", Tony tried to jump in.

"No. You listen. We all know that I am right. He denied Loki since he took him from Laufey with force. He also talks Midgardians down, like every other race, that isn't his own. He knew that Loki will one day find out the truth, he knew that Loki would need to have a future wife and he knew that he would have had to open up to her and show her his true form. And he knew that, if he talked Frost Giants that bad, no one would stay with him and love him, care for him. He knew it all and didn't care. He just put a spell over Loki, so no one asked any questions about Loki, no one would judge Odin and everyone would believe him the lies he is telling. He wanted to humiliate a Frost Giant, since Bor died. Now he has one and is totally humiliating him. Look what he made Loki do !"

Everyone was quiet and stared at her.

"Odin raised Loki like a dog ! Don't you see ?! Odin was giving Loki paperwork, never Thor. He defeated Loki in every little training they had, Thor defeated him, everyone did ! He made Loki look like he was weak !!! And as Frigga taught Loki magic, Odin was surely mad at her. She ruined his plans on humiliating him totally. He could have said that he was a good for nothing Frost Giant !! But now look !! He is very talented, sly, maybe even nice at some point, clever, logical and powerful in his own way !! Odin didn't like that one bit, I bet with you ! That was when he decided that Loki will get a title. Half a blessing and half a curse for his entire life ! And in the end, he decided to make Loki Odin's personal slave and guard dog !!! Can't you see that ?!", Destiny yelled at them outraged.

Everyone stared at her in pure shock. Destiny then started to laugh and drew her hand over her face.

"Who would believe him the truth ? HIM ! The God of Mischief and Lies ! Who would ever believe him, that he says the truth ?! Who would ever want someone, that is always acting like a child ?! Who would want someone, who is as weak as him ?! Who would want someone, that always pulls tricks and pranks ?! Who would want someone, who is just useful with magic ?! Who would want someone like him, that is emotionless ?! Dead inside ?! WHO WOULD WANT LOKI ?! WHO WOULD LOVE HIM ?! Right !! Nobody !! They would just use him as a tool or something else, but never want as a lover !"

Everyone glared at her now and Loki started to sob. It was true. She had a point and he knew it. Who would ever want him ? Who would ever care for and about him ? Who would love him ?

"No one would care, to look through his facades. No one would try to see and find the real Loki. Thor, Odin and Frigga maybe saw the real Loki. I bet at least Frigga saw the real Loki. But no one else would want to have a difficult and misterious man as lover. Not in Asgard at least. The woman are as dumb as bread and want their men easy. They practically demand that men are totally easy to get and read. But Loki ? He is different. And everyone knows it. He is the Dark Prince in Asgard. The one, who doesn't feel a thing, because no one takes time and tries to see the real him. And Odin knows that. He uses it against Loki ! And it is making me sick !!!"

Everyone lost their glare and looked at Destiny in shock. She didn't mean it against Loki, but the view of everyone else in Asgard. Loki stopped sobbing and looked at her in pure shock.

"From where do you know, that I am known in Asgard as the Dark Prince ?"

Destiny looked at him, bored.

"Aki Vow told me."
