Friendships cause heartbreak too
━
▸ "It's billionaire Kim Taehyung's twenty fifth birthday and he's celebrating it by throwing a huge dinner with all his friends and employees!" Everyone in the lunch room clapped and shouted as the CEO read the hospitals invitation out loud. "Dress in your best! Silks! Diamonds! Suits! Rolex!"
Gloria squeezed Viv's hand since she was more focused on staring off into the distance than the good news being shouted before them. "What are you thinking about? What you're going to wear to the dinner?"
Viv smiled sweetly. "Oh, Gloria. I'm not going. I'm busy tonight. But I would love to help you pick out your dress."
"Taking time out of your busy schedule for me? I'm honored." The girls laughed at Gloria's fake thankfulness. "I'm going to be so miserable without you. I barely speak to anyone here."
[Seonjun] I don't even know what you're talking about
[Viv] Just meet me now and we can discuss details
"And my shift just ended!" Viv quickly gathered her things and left the lunch room without saying another word.
She said her goodbyes on the way out the door. She was in a rush to get to her destination before Seonjun lost his patience and left. He already didn't want to see her and now it was forced upon him.

Bored, Seonjun stared her down as she repeated to him exactly what Taehyung told her. "This information is useless to me. He already owns more than half my company. There's nothing I can do."
"He's selling your company to someone else. He doesn't want it, Seonjun. He only did it to spite you. We just have to buy him out of it under an anonymous buyer—"
"Why do you care? Is your relationship no longer unicorns and rainbows?" He chuckled at his bitter comment. "He can sell the whole thing if he wants. All my employees quit and I don't know who is loyal and who isn't..."
Viv groaned as she noticed this conversation was getting nowhere. "Seonjun, listen to me! You can get it all back! You just have to agree to sell it to me when the time comes."
"Why on earth would someone in the medical field want an online newspaper company? I'm really trying to just... gather myself right now." He massaged his temples while staring down at his phone. The game he was playing sat still on the screen. Viv knew he wanted to get back to it as soon as possible. "Maybe we should just let him have it. He's got too much money. You'll go broke."
"Don't worry about my money. I'm going to use it to bring him down."
This made Seonjun sit up to make sure he heard her right. All Viv could do was smile at the fact that she finally got his attention. "Suddenly you hate the man."
"Kim Taehyung is a liar and he's a manipulator. For years, I thought he was the one but he has many others feeling this same way. He's married and he's not planning on divorcing her like he promised. He led me on and I feel so stupid for dragging you with me."
"As you should," he chuckled.
"Right now I need you. I need your help, Seonjun."
He sat and thought about it for a moment before caving in. "We're meeting tonight to discuss something about the company. I guess he's going to tell me he's selling his portion so I won't be in the blind. I'll text you his initial price."
Viv clapped excitedly then gave the man a hug. "I promise you'll get everything we agreed on. Okay?"
"Whatever, Viv. Can I go now? I have to pick up my child."
